Nice clean playing Tony, the end of another book in sight, I reckon there's going to be a double book graduation soon .

That's my favorite song in the whole book I think Very nice job on that TBone, you've only got two songs left and we'll be throwing you a BRYCU graduation party!

...okay, here's another one, my take on "Lead Rhythm in C" is also to be found on this thread's page 1 - although I don't look the part, I can assure you this one is great fun to play! Enjoy the weekend, greetings, t. That was very nicely played, T-Bone. And your last few uploads from BRYCU were also very good. I need to start working on that book. This one sounds very familiar, but it's driving me nuts trying to place where I've heard it before. It's very catchy. So, here's the big question: what Blues song or songs use this same rhythm? Phil

hopefully someone will give us some MBYCU videos soon (looking to Jack), I'd also like to benefit I could buy a cheap webcam, but I'd have to somehow combine the audio of me playing through Pod Farm into Reaper with the video from the camera. Would Windows Movie Maker do that, or can Reaper do that? I'm totally clueless with anything video related.

Thanks, T-Bone, "Strange Brew" is one. But, SB is based on another Blues song that escapes me at the moment and I'm sure others have used this same pattern. As a side note: Clapton HAS to feel more than a little embarrassed when he sees this video.

Another great performance Tony, what book do you think you may go on to when you have finished BYCU and BRYCU?

Tony,
Sounding good on "Lead Rhythm in C". Man, between you and Jack, I'm getting a bad case of lack of progress blues. I have to work this weekend, so won't get to practice much (if any).

T, Your recordings are sounding better and better. Great dirty tone on "Blues for Jimi". Very nicely done. Don't you dare take a several year break! I get a dead link in your "working at the weekend" link above. Anyway, I've wasted away my lunch hour, and need to get back to work. Phil, as another one who has combed thru the supplements on this site, maybe that "Lead rhythm in C" sounds familiar from here: www.bluesyoucanuse.com/lick_overdrive_in_C.htmlBruce

T-Bone, You're making this sound like a goodbye. Where there's will there's a way. There are little travel guitars and you can always find 15 or 20 mins. to run through a few tunes to keep your fingers in the pie, so to speak. Whatever you choose to do, keep checking in here from time to time. Within the next 2 weeks I'll be uploading "Delta Child" and "All Forms Blues" and it won't be the same without you inflicting irreversible trauma to my fragile ego. Be back in a minute. I have to watch your new uploads. (If I can find them). Phil

OK, I found "All Forms." Not bad. I won't mention anything about the timing issues. A little more work to smooth it out and you'll be able to get your BYCU diploma. Were you playing that with your bare thumb? I noticed on some of your other videos that you sometimes play with your thumb. I'm impressed by people who play with bare fingers. I'm a big Magic Sam fan and he plays some very fast and intricate stuff with bare fingers. Stay in touch and post more videos when you find the time. And don't forget to comment on my next uploads. Good luck to you. Phil

Tbone, nice job on All Forms Blues, I'm impressed! I see you decided to go with the pinky bends after all Only constructive criticism is that in bar 9, a couple of those are supposed to be reverse bends. But congrat's on completing the book - I bought you a case of beer to celebrate! (And there's still 4 left if you get over here quick enough ) I wish you the very best of luck in all your future endeavors, you must have quite an interesting job. I'm a bit jealous! Once you get to Europe pick up one of those Pod studios you were talking about, I just love mine. And make sure you stick around here, we need somebody to keep an eye on Phil so he doesn't get out of hand And come December I'll have to start bugging John to write "Even More Blues You Can Use" LOL. Nah I think between MBYCU and R&BYCU I'll be plenty busy for the foreseeable future.

Tony,
I enjoyed "All Forms Blues" - been working on that myself some. Glad to see you've finished this project - maybe that'll spur me to get back to my own Jazzin' The Blues project!
Take care of yourself on your "break" (from here, but doesn't sound like much of a break otherwise). We'll all look forward to you getting settled back to Europe and rejoining our forum.
Good luck with all of this major life change.
Bruce

It's good to know that T-Bone will be watching over me. Come on, Tony, with the Internet we are all in the same room. You have to come back to hear my version of "All Forms Blues." Maybe I'll put off posting it for a few months just to make you keep checking in. At least that's the excuse I'll use.

So they lured you in with the promise of a nice relaxed jam and then stuck you up on stage? See that's why they say never trust a musician That's a great learning experience though. Now you'll be working on developing a repertoire of songs like there's no tomorrow And congat's on your performance!

Sounds like it was fun even if nerve racking. I read somewhere I think a blog talking about how to prepare for your first jam session Or open mic, said learn at least 3 or 4 songs so you have some material, something known like I'm tore down, or SRV tune.
