I started working on the 5th lesson in RnBYCU - the song in the that chapter is unbelievably cool and answers many of my questions about using "sixth" dyads. Some great exercises in that chapter as well, a great book.
I also spend a lot of time with Blues Chords You Can Use. I am still working on the first set of exercises, working out all of the different triads. A bit of hard work, but there are some fun exercises coming up, where you play different arrangements using all the different voicings. I can tell it's beginning to help on my general understanding of Ganapes' studies, so definitely worthwhile.
The rest of my practice time has been spend on technique (still working on picking speed), "melodic phrasing" from another series, and Highway to Hell from Hal & Leonard's AC/DC play-along book. I am starting to have a good grip of the AC/DC solo at 70%-80% speed - it's probably one of the easiest AC/DC songs to play.

I did take one of Chord On Bleu, timing fluctuations noted so started over again will spend some more time and maybe take a look at the next lesson.
Been working on memorizing Black Magic Women, almost through the first solo.
However I am dissatisfied with my self as my practice hasn't been that focused so going to try to get on a better schedule again.
I have been reviewing some of the rythm lessons I covered. Bout it for me.

I got in about 14 3/4 hours on guitar and a colossal 1 hour on bass. Worked on Drivin' Blues, also re-did the bass and rhythm guitar pats for that. In the R&B book I'm still practicing the rhythm part for The Gospel Truth, think I've got it up to about 60% of full tempo now lol. Haven't even started on the lead for it yet. And I wrote a bit of stuff for Major Blues, got about 8 bars done. The last few days I was doing a lot of fingerpicking, mostly my Christmas stuff and even a bit of classical. Also did my usual improvising and on bass it was just Drivin' Blues. I need to get back on track a bit to, too much fingerpicking and not enough The Gospel Truth and Major Blues. Oh well it's all just for fun anyway

Bad week of practice here. Traveling this week, so don't expect it'll be much better. On the plus side, got to see Buddy Guy in concert last night. He can still tear it up. Good fun.

Tuesday was the last time I touched a guitar and it'll be about 3 weeks before things return to normal and I can practice again. This will set me back a bit, but you just have to go with the flow. I have "Tremblin' Tremelo" pretty much up to speed. I was hoping to get it recorded before this imposed lay-off came, but that didn't happen. I can play "8 Bar Boogie" at 140 bpm, but the wheels start to fall off the cart around 145-150. Full tempo is 165. It's a pretty easy tune at a slower speed, but damn near impossible for me at 165 bpm. I've also been working on "Makin' Changes." I finally conquered the rhythm part and have the 1st 12 bars of the lead down fairly well. I may end up having all 3 of these ready at the same time.

Well I ordered a new toy from Musician's Friend It's a Yamaha C40, pretty cheap thing at $140, but it seems to get good reviews so hopefully it'll be good for my Christmas stuff and a little bit of classical music. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will arrive this week and won't be a total disappointment.

Thats similar to the ones I have, bought 2 over 20 years ago, has held up well only issue I have now the tuners don't hold position well so they loose tune pretty quickly. I been thinking about just replacing them, as they play pretty good.

Enjoy, it's going to feel strange because the neck is pretty thick if it's like mine. Enjoy they have a nice warm tone and easy on the fingers.
