So what guitar related items have caught your eye lately and left you daydreaming about the pleasures of owning one? I've just started saving up for an Epiphone Casino. I adore my semi-hollowbody Sheraton II and think this would make the perfect single-coil companion for it. Maybe by Christmas...

Well I have a log list always. New tuner for pedal board boss, Leslie simulator, USB audio device so I can use mic and studio monitors, and definitely need a strat to go with the Gibson.

I don't have anything particular in mind. I did see a Mesa Boogie Lonestar at more than 50% discount in my local guitar store - 100 Watts ought to be enough for the bedroom, but I actually like playing through a USB card into Reaper. My imagination is not vivid enough to picture my wife's reaction if I bought another guitar. But a couple of Ibanez guitars are tempting: or the Andy Timmons signature model: Or perhaps just a hair transplant instead?

I've never had a problem with GAS. My financial situation keeps that under control. But, I've been thinking about an Ibanez AF75 instead of the Epiphone ES-339 that I was considering a few months ago. I recently read that Ibanezes have very thin necks. I discovered this this by reading reviews where people complained about it. Since I have small hands that caught my eye and I'd like to give one of these a try. It's a real hollow body and is supposed to be quite versatile - Jazz, Blues, etc. It has very good reviews and the best part is it's only about $400.00. www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/ibanez-artcore-af75-hollowbody-electric-guitar

Almost hate to admit it, but I'm pretty happy with my setup right now. I got my Macbook back from the Apple store - they finally figured out it needed a new hard drive, and it seems to work again now! I've kind of thought about one of these: Would allow me to record audio right to my iPhone, but I don't think I could record both audio and video at the same time, so I hate to buy one to find out whether I can or not. Or maybe I could record both (audio and video) at the same time on my laptop. I was just thinking that it would make editing videos so much easier, but maybe not. Don't really need anything, I guess, other than to be able to play better... Maybe a new car - my Toyota is 10 years old, but it runs good and it's paid for, so I hate to think about replacing it. Don't really need a hair transplant, just maybe a haircut... Man, it's been really quiet around here the past few days... Bruce

Bruce If I was in that situation I'd forget about a new car and buy a new guitar or something. You'd then have a new guitar, a good running dependable car and still be thousands of dollars ahead.

Yeah, I've been trying to forget about my old car for a few years, Phil. I've got lots of better things to spend money on, and my wife just has lot's of things to spend money on. I'm hoping it'll run for another 5 years at least.
Rich, if you've got one of those Apogee Jam things, do you know whether you can record both audio and video at the same time on your iPhone?

With 3 strats, I keep trying to convince myself that don't really 'need' a Tele. But for some reason I still keep drooling over them...
When the right deal comes along, I might have some explaing to do...

The neck is somewhere in between my Fender Mex Strat and the Epiphone Riviera I traded away. The Riviera had a really fat neck, probably like Jack's Sheraton II. I don't feel encumbered by the heavier neck profile at all, and I feel I can play fast enough one it, except on the high frets. I suggest you get the AF95 model. From the different forums, the consensus seems to be that it has significantly better pickups (called Super 58's), and is not much more expensive.

Bruce I can't say for sure, but most of what I have read says your better off recording straight into a daw and swapping the audio files. I suppose if you can select the audio in device in you recording software it would work, but just speculating. I have the 96k version so it records HD. I don't have an IPhone yet, but have used it with my iPad maybe I can mess around with it this weekend a bit.

Bruce I tested the imam with the Mac photo booth, and it recorded audio from the guitar, pretty raw though might need to use effects pedal to get better tone. I haven't tried with my iPad yet, will let you know how it goes.
