A good week - 9 hours of focused playing. RABYCU Raking In The Soul is proving tough with the rakes. I'm not enjoying it I'm also taking some time to try and add vibrato to bends. I feel this is a very big weakness I have so want to develop this necessary blues skill This week ahead appears very busy so finding the time may be tough, but I will endevour to do so!

I am also working on "Raking in the soul". To me the hardest part is not fumbling the 5th fret F chord - an unusual chord for me.
Also working on technique, BCYCU and "Melodic phrasing" from another series, and I took a peek inside my Easy Blues Play-along by Hal & Leonard, so I have a full plate. But I still feel I am making progress; I still have nothing but praises for RnBYCU and BCYCU - I feel my musical understanding is developing by leaps and bounds.

Not much new to add. I've got Chord On Bleu down pretty good, think I could make a recording if I could find the time... Been sticking with trying to play for 10 minutes before going to work each day, think I just missed one day this week. Have tried to stay with "Speed Mechanics For Lead Guitar", but have been working to get my fingers to do chromatic pull-offs (and the hammer-ons aren't much better!). I don't think I can ever play Cheap Runs unless I get my fingers working better.

Hi All, I got in a good 6 hours of practice, missed one day but still got in 10 maybe 15 minutes. Like Bruce not much new still working on Chord on Bleu slow speed, I have the rythm down pretty good except the last little chord progression I am fumbling a bit getting better but not comfortable, as for the lead I have about 5 measures and will have it all in memory what I know is coming along well.
I went to the 3 Ed Annunal international Blues Festival in Seville yesterday. What I noticed was 3 guitar players, same guitar amp ect... Had 3 different tones, starting from could play through damn check the tone, so it was a great example proving most of the tone comes from your fingers.
Plan this week move on to another Rythmn lesson funky Rythmn and keep chiseling away at chord on Bleu.
Oh I also got in 1 hour of Bass practice. And have a definitive move towards putting together a band my friend has a trip so we have decided when he gets back we will get together along with a bass player and start working on a set of easier songs, he got fired up after the festival yesterday.

I got in about 11 hours on guitar and 3 1/2 on bass this week. Got Two Chord Stroll posted so that was a nice accomplishment. More Minor Blues is done with two choruses of my own, but I won't post it until the 19th so I don't get chastised again Got started on Motor City Stroll in the R&B book, which is another very fun song. It's in 3/4 time so that's kind of different. Only worked a little bit on Drivin' Blues, and also did some improvising. On bass I was mostly working on Two Chord Stroll and also played around with Green Eyed Lady by Sugarloaf. This week it'll be Motor City Stroll and Drivin' Blues as my main projects I suppose.

I got in 9hrs 20 minutes this week. Almost hit my goal of 10 hrs. per week. Most of that time was spent on trying to come up with something interesting for "More Minor Blues" and more practice on bringing "Tremblin' Tremolo" up to tempo. Re: "More Minor Blues." I've discovered that if I focus on the music and not try to throw in every technique I've picked up from BYCU I can come up with better sounding solos. It's hard to play technically easy stuff when I'm trying to impress other guitar players with my (non-existent) technical prowess. Seriously, I do believe that I try too hard to come up with stuff that focuses on technique instead of trying to make good music. It's just one more thing that separates the wannabes from the pros.
