Not a bad week - 8ish hours down. Managed to record the rhythm section to "RABYCU Slow Dance Dreams" in 1-take as well as creating a simple drum backing track in Hydrogen (and I tried to create the drum hit in the silent bit too!). The Lead part to this track is proving taxing as it has a lot of rhythmic chord changes, still, I'm sure it's improving my chord changes. I also recorded another Chicago Blues style lead track from other material I am working on - seems it went ok I'm away with the family for a week long holiday starting Saturday, so could someone start the weekly Update thread for me next week please as I will be without guitar and without Internet - thanks. I don't know how I'll cope without my guitar, but I have over 20 hours of blues podcasts to listen to, the wife is worried about this So, see you in 2 weeks

Didn't get in much practice this week - only 3 days for a total of 4 hrs. Almost all of that was spent on "Lazy Day," but that was a worthwhile exercise. It also gave me a break from MBYCU.
This coming week I'll get back to "True Trem Blues" and "Tremblin' Tremolo." I hope to get "True Trem" recorded soon and to get moving on the rest of MBYCU.
I was a little disappointed that only 4 people participated in the "Lazy Day Blues" review thing. Maybe we'll get more participation on the next one.

I got in about 13 1/2 hours on guitar and 3 on bass this week. Got Lazy Day Blues posted on my new guitar Looking forward to the next review project and making up a chorus or two of my own for it. Spent a lot of time on Half Steppin' in More BYCU. That lead is still giving me problems, it's got that part where you slide into every note and then jump from the 5th to the 9th fret and instantly continue sliding into every note. I had that going pretty good on my Ibanez with its super thin neck, but the Sheraton has a neck like a baseball bat and when I use my thumb as a pivot point for all those slides, my palm will kind of get stuck on the back of that huge neck and it screws me up. Oh well, just takes some getting used to I guess. I've been practicing it in isolation quite a bit and it's coming along okay. Other than that I did my usual improvising and worked on some Bass Aerobics. I'm back to that Disco song again Bought one of those Focusrite Scarlet Solo guitar > computer interfaces, that thing's been nothing but problems. Wasted all of Tuesday night figuring out that it outputs the guitar on channel 2, while my amp sim's and DAW have channel 1 as their default input. Then I was getting snaps and pops in the audio, so I eventually figured out that I needed to increase the buffer size to fix that. Now the Focusrite ASIO drivers seem to crash once every hour or so. Doesn't matter what I'm doing, using Amplitube 3, Reaper, YouTube or Soundcloud, the sound just cuts out and I have to close and reopen the program to get it back. I sent an e-mail to their customer service, not exactly optimistic. Oh well whenever I'm feeling frustrated I just pick up my shiny new guitar

Not much of a practice week for me, due to travel Monday-Thursday for work. However, I continue to work on Bending the Blues and playing previous lessons to keep improving the rough areas. I did receive my new (to me) amp this week. It's an older ('93), Made in USA - Fender Bronco Tweed. It's a solid state amp that everyone gave great reviews on and I missed my small Champion 600 and wanted something easy to carry to friend's houses, etc. It is in great shape and sounds awesome. Well I had an off week although I did get a productive 4 hours of practice.
I have been working on the excersise 1 in mbycu, while learning all form blues from brycu. Making good progress despite the short time spent practicing, I have the shoe song memorized except for the ending so I am working on that section.
Thursday a friend stopped by to check out my Gibson and wants to see if we can put something together with another guy he knows, he plays much better than I do but sounds like fun and a way to get better.
Chris that tweed amp looks a lot like my blues jr nos tweed, if it sounds as good as it looks you are in business.
I agree with Phil hopefully more participation in the next review, I want to give a try at adding my own riffs as well.
Lastly spent time working with GarageBand learning how to use the auto drummer, short is you lay down your rhythm piece the add drummer track selecting auto drummer and it will adjust to you rhythm, now trying to figure out how to add a bass.

I'll join the list of not much practice this week. I hate it when fun gets pushed aside by other obligations! Still working Chord-on Bleu from MBYCU. I did review Lazy Day Blues, just never got around to recording it. Still working a slow blues from another course. I think I need to work on creative use of time - finding 10 minutes in the morning before work, finding 15 minutes before bed time, maybe another 5 or 10 here or there. I think that kind of time could add up to a couple of hours a week, as well as provide a little break thru the day. Hmm....
