Another good week of practice - almost 11 hours with much of Saturday spent playing tunes I know from BYCU.
Managed to record RABYCU Lost Love. So, onwards with the next track in RABYCU!
Guitar Aerobics had me failing on a couple of days - which bummed me out a bit.

Only got in 8 1/4 hours on guitar and 1 on bass this week, plus an hour or two figuring out the bass line for Half Steppin'. Kind of busy with other stuff, kind of lazy when it came to practicing, and I wasted way too much time browsing guitars at Musician's Friend. I did get Makin' Changes recorded so that's a nice accomplishment. Now I started on Half Steppin' in More BYCU. Got the bass line more or less figured out, the rhythm part seems pretty easy, and now that I've been working on it for a couple of days, the lead doesn't look like it will be too bad. The only bends are three little quarter step ones, so I can hopefully get those to pitch Practiced my improvising a little bit and worked on Bass Aerobics a bit too. Hopefully this coming week will be a little better for practicing and I'll have a little more ambition

Well I actually got in 9 hours this week.
Still cleaning up delta child, just started trying to get it recorded, one day this week maybe even today. Still fussing with rockin and Rollin, changed tactics so might even get that one recorded at full speed this week. Started on lazy day blues, and got diverted with this weeks lick of the week. I practice bending to pitch with a tuner, plus my metronome workout and spider excersises. Still practicing plan old major blues from the brycu book, mostly as a wind down.

I got in 7 days of practice for a total of 8.5 hours. I got in 15 more minutes than Jack!!! This is a first. About 4 of those hours were spent on "True Trem Blues." I only spent about 10 minutes on Jazz this week. I want to focus on MBYCU and get through it. I also got started on "Tremblin' Tremelo," which I hope won't take as long as "True Trem" is taking. "True Trem" is almost there. It just needs some cleaning up. I think I said the same thing last week, but now I really mean it. What I didn't do is review past studies, do any transcribing, or spend time on the Jazz. I'm obsessed with completing "True Trem Blue." Don't know if that's a good thing or not.

Didn't get as much practice time as usual last week. Working on the first lesson in MBYCU and some songs in Hot Rock Guitar grade 1. Next week I plan to start on Lazy Day Blues.

I got in about 7 hours this week. I've been focusing on getting Swinging the Blues and Double Stop Stomp up to full speed, and also working on correcting those triplets that was playing incorrectly in Double Stop Stomp. Technique practice has been focused on bends, and I've also really got to start using more alternate picking (another key practice element for me). I spent some time this week learning more recording tips and I'm currently working to better understand EQ-ing techniques and tips.

Well, I got 11 hours under my belt this week, so I beat Jack as well . I have put more time into the chord changes on "Cool Shade" and set up tones etc ready to record so hopefully will do over the next couple of days. I have temporarily back burnered other projects to get re-started on lesson 2 MBYCU, I did have a go at this back at the start of the year but very quickly hit a brick wall with it so its time to get back on the horse!!!.

Yeah, you're on top of the world because you just finished BYCU Then you enthusiastically dive into MBYCU and are somewhat challenged by "Chord-on Bleu," but get through it with a little effort. Then you get all the wind taken out of your sails with "Drivin' Blues" and wonder if you should chop your guitar into firewood. I empathize with you.

Worked on MBYCU lessons 1 & 2 some. Trying to use the scale practice for these some - I think it would be something really good to add to my repertoire. On the road right now, no practice for a few days - grrrrrr! Hope to get "Chord on Bleu" recorded - someday.... Also working on a slow blues from another course still - takes away some of my BYCU time, but man, I love me some good slow blues! Bruce

A nice finger bleeding inducing slow Blues.

I played through 6 lessons in Guitar Aerobics and I'm surprised at how I've progressed in just those 6 lessons. I think the shortness of them is what keeps me consistently practicing for about half hour a night. I can even play Delta Mood faster. Bought that other book - Fretboard Freedom... His Rhythm Guitar 365 isn't on iPad which sucks. Maybe I'll get the book if I keep doing these little exercises.

That sounds like an absolute bargain - I am interested in hearing what you think of it. I liked Amplitube free alot, but thought the full version was too expensive. I ended up getting Guitar Rig 5 Kontrol, which is also quite expensive, but I like the Rig Kontrol.

Hi! What I do these days is mostly reviewing past studies, do transcribing and working on technical development... I also try to spend some time on the Bass or on Drums. However, work, family and knee rehab take most of my time, so getting over 7 hours max practice time a week seems utopical to me. Anyway, I also worked on MBYCU lessons 1 and 2; I'm to lazy to produce BTs, though, so I'm not sure when I'll actually be ready to record - it seems to me like I'd waste precious which could be better used for practice.... maybe I'll just work through MBYCU like that and only post if and when I feel I've got time for that... Greetings, T. I'll happily share a BIAB backing track for the MBUCY lesson 1 and 2. Not recording our progress and feeling the accomplishments of properly completing the lessons seems to defy the purpose of several people working dedicatedly on MBUCY together.

T-Bone and anyone else who's interested. Here's a link to a drum track for Chord-on Bleu, and drums and bass for Drivin' Blues. I never got around to doing a bass track for Chord-on Bleu. Jack provided the drums for both studies. For everything from lesson 3 on, Jack has uploaded bass and drums to his soundcloud page and has said before that everyone is welcome to use them. soundcloud.com/jack_e_blue/sets/mbycu-backing-tracks

T-bone, you and everybody else are certainly welcome to use any of the backing track stuff I've recorded, it should all be over here: soundcloud.com/jack-c8/tracks I didn't get a bass until I was a few songs into More BYCU, so the first few are just drums.

I ended up getting Guitar Rig 5 Kontrol, which is also quite expensive, but I like the Rig Kontrol. I was messing around with it a bit last night, just going through the presets, and am pretty happy with what I'm hearing. I definitely need to read the manual as I don't even know what half the stuff on the user interface does I'll post a full report on next week's update once I've had a chance to familiarize myself with it a bit more.
