I guess this is semi-presentable, the bends are kind of effed up and I sort of fudge a few notes in the middle of it, but overall it's the best take I've been able to get. Comments and criticisms are very much appreciated. Or just give me the full smack down treatment and I'll keep working on it some more

Jack, that may well be called "Groovin' Easy" but it doesn't look very easy to me!!! That's another one in the bag mate, keep em coming.

Sounding very cool and laid back from here, Jack. I'm having a hard time picking out any notes or bends that are bad - even went back and listened to it again. I think you've earned a cold beer, or maybe a round of golf - then on to the next lesson!

Thanks so much guys! Mick, yeah I didn't think it was very easy either lol. I guess the easy part is supposed to be for the listener, not so much the player Bruce, I was thinking of playing golf today but it just started raining, so darn it anyway, have to go with the beer option I guess

Jack that was excellent without nit pickin is couldn't notice any errors. I love that red strat too. I think nick said it all don't look easy, even if it's called groovin easy.

Well done, Jack, I also think that was great! It looks like a difficult sstudy. And about time you posted something instead of making smug remarks and posting pictures of Hello Kitty guitars...

Well, Jack, I was kind of hoping that you would spend at least another 6 months on this study so I could catch up a little, but I guess you are just not going to cooperate. That was outstanding. I compared it to the original and your version is just as good. You might be aware of little things you could have done better because you've lived with this study for so long. To me it sounds fine. I can't give you even a tiny smack-down. I guess I'll have to go pick on Rich about not cutting off his bends or something.

That's really cool Jack! Fricking fast with those chords up and down the fretboard. That's fast switching. I hold my picking hand the same way you do like a light fist. I find a lot of people have their fingers spread out so I always felt weird so that's really cool that you do it too.

That's so much guys, you just made my day! Rich you should get a red Strat too, think how awesome it would look next to that blue ES-335! Joachim, thanks! And sorry about the Hello Kitty picture, I was just trying to give you some good-natured teasing, certainly didn't mean to come off like a jerk or anything. My apologies. Phil, thanks man, that makes me feel great that you could listen to John's version and not notice any major screw-ups in mine! Of course you know if you don't give me a good smack down one of these days I'm going to start developing and ego And don't worry about catching up, I just started on Eight Bar Boogie and I think the full tempo version is at about 16,400 BPM. That will probably take me a while Mike, thanks! I must have read someplace that you're supposed to keep your hand in a loose fist like that, but I've also seen some great players who have got their pinky anchored on the front of the guitar too, so I guess anyway that works is okay. I should probably work on the fact that my left pinky always curls up in a tight ball when I'm not using it lol.

Too late for that, Jack - you made your own bed!! Joke aside - sometimes well-intended sarcasm can get lost in emails - I didn't take any offense and found it amusing...

I was going to suggest that you now learn "Groovin' Easy" in all 12 keys with your eyes closed, but "Eight Bar Boogie" will serve the same purpose.

LOL. Thanks I do appreciate that. If I ever get past "Big Bends" and "True Trem" I'm sure I'll get stuck on "Tremblin' Tremolo." But I'll get to "Groovin' Easy" one of these days. Phil

Nice playing Jack!
Looked like a real difficult piece. Clearly there's a lot of blood sweat an tears in that!- well done!
I haven't tried any of the 'More blues you can use book' as I'm using 'Rhythm and Blues you can use', but I'll have to check it out.
btw the red Strat - wow!
Thanks Mike

Thanks so much Mike, glad you liked it! I was working through the Rhythm and Blues book as well, there's a ton of great stuff in there. Thanks for the compliment on my Strat too, she's my baby
