Ok, finally got this one recorded - and just in time for this week . Don't think it's quite perfect but pleased overall. This one was a tough one! I think it demonstrates one of my weaknesses - open strings. But I also felt very "exposed" as the backing track has next to nothing going on. Still, see what you think. I turned the tone down and the gain was midway on my Boss BD-2 to try and get a good Delta sound. soundcloud.com/wannalearnguitar/bycu-delta-childComments welcome.

WPB, Looks to me like you took that one all the way down the delta. Your tone was absolutely dynamite on that. You've got the feel of that piece just oozing all over the place. I think you did yourself proud on that one! Great job. That is a tough one, but it sounds really cool. I think I'm going to have to have a beer in your honor... Bruce

Sounding nice WPB, good tone and well played overall. That's a tough song! About the only constructive criticism I've got to offer is that in the second half of bar 8, after the trill, that lick lags a bit, and in bar 15, with the hammer ons, it sounds like you're trying to deaden the note after each hammer on but you don't need to do that. I always look at these Delta blues songs like they're really heavy blues and need to be played with an aggressive attitude. Anyhow, sounds great, congrat's - you're only one song away from your graduation ceremony!

I liked that, tone was perfect, I haven't gotten into that study so from an external perspective sounded great.

Nice going, WPB. This study is much harder than it appears. Good tone and you pulled off those tricky "tuplets" in the last 2 beats of measure 15. (I learned the term from one of John G's comments). You have to have a good grasp of timing to play that in time. One more study left in BYCU! What are your plans after graduation?

Nice job WPB, you can really hear the hours of practice with this one, it sounds comfortable and familiar just as the blues should be, I bet your bending finger bled learning this, mine certainly did!!! Thing is though its nearly time for graduation and that only counts with a vid, preferably with some sort of a prop like maybe your dog or cat etc etc, so you got an audience as well .
