After weeks and weeks of building up the speed - I recorded this about an hour ago. Second take! A couple of fumbled notes at the start but the rest I felt was good. I want to do a separate thread on my pedalboard layout (which I have recently worked on) but this track uses my new Fender Champion 40 amp on the 'clean' channel with a tiny bit of its reverb turned on and my new overdive pedal, the Joyo JF-01 Vintage Overdrive - this pedal is made in china but has the same chip as some of the classic Tube Screamers (the jrc4588 - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibanez_Tube_Screamer#Design ). I feel it has warmer mids, less bottom heavy than my Boss BD-2 and is literally 1/4 the price of a Tube Screamer!!! See what you think of the tone... soundcloud.com/wannalearnguitar/bycu-rockin-and-rollinAs always, comments and suggestions welcome!

No doubt about, next one please, fantastic job. Are you mic'ing the cab or going direct?

I have never ever gotten a decent recording of anything on the 2nd take, so congrats on that. That's an accomplishment in itself. If your bends were a little better this would have been perfect. That's the only thing that I think could be improved. Your timing is spot on and you hit all those fast notes nice and clean. You obviously have been practicing.

Sounds good to me, wanna play. I thought your tone on that was just fantastic - not too much distortion. Same question as Mick: did you mic the amp or record direct? Good job!

Nice job on that WPB and congrat's, that's definitely a tough one! Tone sounds great, just the right amount of overdrive.

No doubt about, next one please, fantastic job. Are you mic'ing the cab or going direct? I go direct - cable from the amp's headphone jack to the PC's line-in. I'd love to mic the amp - but there's a family here so you'd hear the tv, the kids and probably a baby crying
