Here is an in progress recording of Major Blues for you listening pleasure. I think I need to do some clean up work on it still but overall I am fairly surprised the recording came out so well. soundcloud.com/alabama-blues/major-blues-v1

Rich, as I mentioned earlier, your playing has improved by leaps and bounds lately. That didn't sound like work-in-progress at all.
You are skipping 1 or 2 double stops in the third measure, I think. There're supposed to be a full measure with triplets of them, 12 in all. I counted 10, I think, in your recording - I only noticed because I recently played that song far too many times, and that measure sounded different to me.
Keep up the good work!

That sounded great Rich, the timing is not only good, but it has a really nice laid-back feel to it - bravo! I noticed those couple of missing double stops that Joachim mentioned but hey, huge improvement overall! I'd break open a bottle of bubbly if I were you

Joachim you are probably right that first set of double stops is one of the areas making this a work in progress I had a count the other day that was working well on getting them all in but sometimes I miss one, also I slurred one at the end I think was nice and clean. The ending is a little rough too but I just got that memorized this afternoon. Thanks for the complement.

Wow, Rich, that sounded damn good. Your not giving me any ammunition to give you a smack-down. Since you already pointed out that it's a work on progress I won't knit pick. Ok, just a little. You're missing a double stop or 2 in that 1st bar of triplets, but it's not really noticeable unless the listener is counting and had the tab in front of him (like I did ). However, it doesn't throw your timing off or anything and your timing is spot on. The only other thing is that bend in bar 10 - 1st string 6th fret - is flat, but that is a hard bend in that area of the neck. Anyhow, it sounds very good and needs very little polishing. I expect you'll have it down in a couple of days. Also, I really like the twangy tone you have on this one. It makes it sound kinda country, but that's OK because it sounds appropriate. The only thing I'd add is I'd like to hear your guitar a little louder. The rhythm is almost as loud as the lead in places. Great job. I think you deserve the "Most Improved Player" award.

I can't comment on your technique but I really like that tune; has a good country twang to it.

Phil and phillip I appreciate the feedback. Phillip note that if you get past Phil without getting beat down your doing well, he has really helped me by picking up those flaws for me to iron out. Yeh that double stop has been hit or mis the other day I had it spot on, now I can't seem to get my count correct, the whol bar is 12 notes but you start with a hammer on followed by 3 triplets then the change to fret 5 and another hammer on. Also that bend was definitely flat because I am rushing it trying to get ready for the turn around, I only started working on that section this afternoon. It makes me feel good to be progressing again there for awhile I was kind of stuck.
Again thanks for all the positive feedback.
