I got in 11 1/4 hours on guitar and 4 1/4 on bass this week. Kind of lazy at the beginning of the week and busy with other stuff at the end of the week. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were good though
Still working on Funky Soul; I think I've got the timing worked out and I'm trying to play it with more energy, now it's just a matter of getting a good recording. That's a hard song to get a good take of because you're playing a few notes on the low strings, then a few on the high strings - I always miss a few notes completely in almost every take.
Still working on Tremblin' Tremolo in More BYCU, it's coming along okay. I was actually practicing it at full tempo one day (must have been having a good day ) There are some parts I'm still having trouble with and it's going to take a lot more practice to get it all smoothed out.
In the rhythm book I got Ninth Chord Study in Eb posted and I'm on to G Minor Blues. Kind of hoping to do my own solo for it. Worked on a variety of other songs from all the books I've bought recently: "The Jack" by AC/DC which is based on a blues shuffle spread rhythm, "Chains and Things" by BB King, and even a bit of Foolin' by Def Leppard. Love those big power chords. And I did quite a bit of improvising along with backing tracks as always. Still waiting for my Big Book of Backing Tracks to arrive.
On bass I did week 19 in Bass Aerobics. I suppose I can post the video - it's not very good. I could smooth it out with more practice but of course you only get one week to work on a lesson and then it's on to the next week's song. It's about 100 miles from being tight with the drums, but here it is anyway
I also got a somewhat satisfactory bass line for Tremblin' Tremolo recorded and worked on "As The Years Go Passing By " by Albert King. Hoping to post a bass cover of that sometime if The Powers That Be don't block it for copyright infringement.
