Well here it is not perfect but this is about the best I have recording seems like I keep making minor errors at different spots, this one the bends aren't just right and the turn around a little rough, but thought I would post for some feedback as I am ready for another lesson driving my wife crazy repeating the same song every night for an hour. Anyway comments gladly excepted. PS: Still working on that phrasing thing . soundcloud.com/alabama-blues/more-minor-blues-v1-1

Rich,
Whatever you've been doing lately - keep doing it! Wow, that was really great, both timing and phrasing.

Joachim thanks for such positive feedback, phrasing was probably by accident since I am in a down mood today. I do think I will get this tune better over time cause I really like playing it. I really struggled with the bend on second string 8th fret bends up to an A but was always sharp a little flat. Only thing really I have done for timing is spend time listening to the practice track and counting. Again thanks for the encouraging words.

Your timing is definitely continuing to improve Rich, there's some pretty intricate stuff in there and for the most part you got it down really well.

Thanks jack for the positive feedback, continued improvement is all I am looking for. There several things that I would like better, but I think moving on a going back to play it is a better strategy at this time. I need to get focused again, so new material should help.

Rich, you can certainly hear an improvement in your playing, you have come a long way in just a few months, I agree with the other guys, good timing, and a really nice guitar tone (did you use your new Blues Jr?) that suits the song. My thoughts on how to improve it would be to watch those few notes that you cut short a little, it sort of stops the singing quality that this melody requires if you know what I mean.

Thanks for positive comments Mick. I did not record with my new amp, although now I use it to practice with instead of computer and head phones which I think might be helping my playing seems like the amp has more dynamics that have to be controlled. I did try doing a recording set up with the amp but came out kind of harsh sounding. anyway you noted the same spots I didn't like, also needed a couple of the chords to be more separate sounding. Thanks again.

OK, Rich, I'm afraid I will not be able to give you a smackdown on this one. This is without a doubt the best thing you have posted. I'm impressed with your progress and playing on this. I agree with Mick that you are cutting the notes short in many places, but that is an easy fix once you become aware that you are doing it. The most important thing is that you are conquering your timing problems, and timing is the most important thing after playing the correct note. John G. talks about holding a note until the next note is played, but I forget where. I was having a similar problem and wasn't even aware of it until a couple of people here pointed it out. Keep up the good work.

Only thing really I have done for timing is spend time listening to the practice track and counting. You found the solution. Now, keep doing it. I believe just knowing that you finally got the timing issue solved will renew your desire to keep plugging away and help motivate you. You just hit a learning peak!

I played through my amp this weekend for the 1st time in months. Agree with you that it is very different from playing through a computer with headphones, but I can't explain why.

Rich,
If all you're looking for is improvement, you've definitely found it! Nicely done. You are just mastering your past timing problems - two words come to mind: "wow" and "kewl". Keep it up, man.
