Ok, so I just ordered an AMP (Fender Champion 40). It's my first amp with two channels (clean and drive)... so I now have to ask a serious (stupid?) question:
I have my Boss BD2 for nice blues driven sounds, as well as some other pedals... do I connect my pedals to the amp and:
A) use the amp's clean channel - so I get genuine distortion from the pedals going through the amp's clean sounds B) use the amp's drive channel - thereby added gain to the overall signal C) It doesn't matter as long as it sounds good
Seriously, I want to do what offers the best sound - especially when I come to record.
I have no idea what is the "right" way...

first congrats on the new amp.
Now for your question, short ansew is C. I have a 2 channel amp that I am not using, but you normally can switch between channels with a foot switch. From my research set up your amp for best clean tone then set the pedal up to a nice tone you like.
You can also use the bd2 as a volumn boost reduce over drive then set the tone and level to give you a volumn boost, so say you are using distortion from the amp kicking in the pedal for solos.
Other option is use the bd2 for dirt and stack it with the amps dirty channel to get even dirtier.
Long way to say it's basically experimentation.

Congrat's on the new amp WPB! I'd usually run the distortion pedal into the clean channel. But of course, fiddle around with it all you want and see what it sounds like with a bit of added overdrive from the amp - that's half the fun

Congrats on the new amp. I was considering that but found the jetcity amp used and i could not pass up a deal. I would keep the drive pedal out front, you don't need it all the time, and will likely sound nice on the clean channel but might be to mucky on the over drive. Experiment and find what sounds best to you.
Can't wait to see what you think of the amp

Wannaplay, congrats on the new amp. I would pick answer "D" - all the above! Turn it up loud and have fun
