I told Phil we needed work-in-progress recordings, so I suppose I should eat my dog-food as well. Here is a practice recording at 90% of T-Bone Walker's "Glamour Girl". soundcloud.com/joachim-dahl-1/glamour-girl-work-in-progressThere are wrong chords and notes, and it's at 90%, but I thought I upload it to give an idea of what I am working on and show how cool the T-Bone Walker play-along compositions by Hal & Leonard are.

Great tone there, Joachim. Very T-Bone-ish. I haven't tried anything from this book yet, but you just inspired me to start. I'm feeling myself being pulled more an more towards this Jazzier side of Blues.
I think there are at least 2 instrumentals. The other songs are, unfortunately, missing the vocals which kind of leaves a big hole. They do, however, have some great guitar solos. You should be able play along with T-Bone's originals after learning these tunes. Which might be fun. It sounds like they are note for note from the originals.
Anyways, nice job. And keep those recordings coming.

That sounded great Joachim! Love that music. You're gonna make me buy another book Second that on another book this was another great listen, sounds pretty polished even if you are not at full tempo. I don't think anyone would notice the tempo unless they really was familiar with the song or you told them.

Thanks for listening!
Bruce, I'll probably buy that collection - I heard one T-Bone Walker recording of Glamour Girl on youtube, and I think that the play-along arrangement has a nicer jazzier sound. The original recording was also cool, but has more of an old big-band'ish sound - or so I remember it.

The original recording was also cool, but has more of an old big-band'ish sound - or so I remember it. I not a fan of the big band 1940's style blues, but I do love T-Bone's guitar. Here's a version without the big band: I don't know what album this is on, but it definitely was in his later years by the sound of his voice. I like this version much more than the original. PS. the photo is of Albert Collins, but this is T-Bone Walker singing and playing.
