Great timing on that, and beautiful "crying" tone. You're definitely ready to move on from that one. There's a few off pitch bends, but that's going to just take all of us the rest of our lives to get rid of those! There's one especially strident one right at the start of the second chorus - ouch! Was that the new strat? I'd recommend another dose of Phil's BTPB and onward to Major Blues.

yes, that's my strat on the neck pickup - I am enjoying that guitar tremendously. The second pickup position between neck and bridge is my favourite one, though. Very smooth for both rhythm, mellow lead and even jazzy chords.
Yeah - that bend you're talking about is way off pitch, but I didn't bother recording more versions, because they all had different flaws. In the end I just recorded this one and kept it.

I enjoyed the recording. Nice tone and timing. My only nitpick is about string buzz in the intro chord progression - if it's not guitar's frets/truss rod adjustment problem, maybe you are not applying enough force with your index finger to 1,2,3 strings? I faced the same problem with this full bar chords - the problem was in that I needed to reallocate index finger force evenly, paying attention especially on thin strings.
... My fav pups position for this tune is neck+middle, it's because of chords progressions sound. And maybe some chorus - it makes ultimate sadness and blues feel sometimes.

Silverthorne, you're right about the buzz - I have to get used to the strat neck, which has a much flatter fretboard than I am used to.

Other than a few painful bends it sounds very good. Your timing is spot on. No point in spending any more time on this one right now. Go back to it now and then as a review. That's something I need to do regularly. It's amazing how fast you'll forget how to play these tunes when you don't play them for a long time.
You are going to really like "Major Blues." It's not too hard and sounds great just playing it solo with no backing track.

More variations on exercises, more scales into play, etc. I think I am going to enjoy the last part a lot - otherwise BRYCU has actually been my favourite book so far.

Nice and smooth I thought, and you are starting to develop a "singing and dynamic" quality to your lead playing, very important for achieving that elusive playing with feeling.
