What can I say? I've missed my baby and since she's been back I've been practising this piece at *every* opportunity. Had it down at slow tempo yesterday and today I pushed it all the way and decided to record it. Perhaps not perfect, but I'm pleased with the sound of the six-note-runs-in-one-beat I should also say that this was recorded differently - a software amp emulation. I plugged the guitar into the PC and used guitarx ( guitarix.sourceforge.net/ ) on Linux to create the sound - I guess it's similar to Amplitube in what it does. Well done! It sounds nice and relaxed - you keep the flow of the tune going really well...

I get sound here, WPB. I like your amp simulation tone - kind of a clean, crying sort of sound, thought it fit the song well. The performance was good, too, especially considering you're just brought this up to speed. Some of the bends were a little off pitch and, some of the faster runs weren't completely smooth, but this is a pretty tough piece. I've heard that some people suggest playing a piece at 105 to 110% of it's intended tempo to help get the speed smoothed out. You can do this if you have any software that allows altering tempo without altering pitch, or even with a metronome. You sound like you've got this one down pretty well, though. Do you intend to move onward or work on this one some more?

I thought it sounded pretty good as well, I think Bruce hit all the points already. I also like the sound. It's definitely good enough to move on.

I think Bruce covered everything. However, after hearing other things you've recorded I think you are capable of doing a better version. Keep working on those bends.

Yeah I think Bruce mentioned everything I was going to say. You're kind of getting into the part of the book where you have to start playing faster to get those phrases to sound sharp and expressive. As far as bends, I find it helps to improvise over the backing track using a lot of bends - something about playing the same solo over and over a gazillion times, if the bends start getting flat they start sounding right that way, but when you improvise it's all fresh and new again, and that seems to carry over when you go back to the solo in the book. I think it sounded nice overall though
