Here is my recording of BRYCU #10: soundcloud.com/joachim-dahl-1/brycu-lesson-10It's been much much harder to get down than I thought it would, and the recorded tempo is a bit too fast for me (especially near the end), but I think it's good enough to move on - the next lesson continues with slide-ins, so I will more practice-time for them. EDIT: After some good feedback I re-recorded the track, trying to play it smoother, slower and more laid-back.

That sounded really nice Joachim. I love your guitar sound, it fits the song perfectly. Timing was really good overall, just a few chords that weren't fingered completely towards the end like you mentioned. About the only constructive "criticism" is that in John's version, he does the slides just the tiniest bit slower to make them stand out a bit more, but that's a matter of taste I guess.

Hi Joachim, I haven't got that far in the book yet but I've just had a look and it looks mighty difficult to me. Well played and again the guitar sounds really smooth.

Joachim,
Nice job on that one. It is a tough rhythm, and the variations going thru it three times makes it harder. It is, though, a really "standard" type rhythm part you hear in slow blues all the time. I agree, the slides need to be slower and stressed more. Your tone is great, your timing is good. It's a tough one to play, but well worth trying to get down. This is one of the tracks that really makes me wish they had included a recording of the rhythm part without the lead over it, so you could hear the rhythm part more clearly. You're definitely ready to move on, but you should revisit this one some time down the line...

thanks for the feedback guys, it was very helpful. I gave it another try, and I'd appreciate your thoughts on it. I tried to play it in a more laid-back manner, and I like the new version better myself, but it's certainly not flawless. soundcloud.com/joachim-dahl-1/brycu-lesson-10

Nice job, Joachim. My only criticism is that I can't hear most of the slides. Maybe you're doing them too fast or maybe my ears are just old. I just checked the original and the slides are clear. You've got the chord changes and timing down. Now I think you just need a little more work on making those slides sound out a bit more. I see that the next one also has several slides. You'll be slippin' and a slidin' in no time.

I think I got the lesson into a better shape shape now - the slides still don't ring out as much as on the book CD, but it's better I believe, and I am not sure how to play the slides differently - so I am onwards to lessson #11, which looks very cool... soundcloud.com/joachim-dahl-1/brycu-lesson-10

Very cool, Joachim. I think the extra practice you put in on that one paid off nicely. The slides are sounding much more distinct. Good job!

thanks, wpb and Bruce. The slides are still of fluctuating quality - need to play them lots more to get a consistent good quality, but at least I have and idea of how to play them now.

Much better. Joachim. Now I can hear the slides. Keep up the good work. It gets very frustrating at times.
