I just watched the most entertaining, interesting documentary called "Blues and the Alligator, the first 20 years of Alligator Records". As you would guess it is a lot about Chicago Blues, since that is Alligator's hometown (which I didn't know).
What was interesting is that Bruce Iglauer left Delmark Records to start Alligator. It showed a picture of Delmark and my wife shouted, "We've been there!" Decades ago we went on a trip to Chicago during my Jazz interest days and we went to Delmark.
But back to the movie, it showed some interesting footage of Hound Dog Taylor that Iglauer started Alligator to produce. I didn't know his name was Theodore Roosevelt Taylor. Also some great interviews and concert footage of Koko Taylor, Lonnie Brooks (and Ronnie), Little Ed and the Imperials, Kenny Neil, Billy Branch and lots of others.
If you're on this forum you love the blues and this will be an hour well spent.
I streamed it on Amazon where it is free as a part of Prime. If not a member of Prime it's $4. I glanced and couldn't find it on Netflix.

Thanks for the info, Mat. I just watched an excerpt from it. Now I have to find the whole thing.
