I saw here somewhere someone say to try recording a take with the full band panned to one side and the students performance panned to the other, I can't remember who or where. If you haven't done this you should try it, what a great way to tighten things up. Thank you who ever you are.

It was a post from Phil. We were talking about recording and practice and I mentioned that I record myself along with the practice tracks then reviewedthe recording for timing tones ect. I play with the volume to here myself and John the guitars should sound synchronized. Helps me, anyway Phil made the post.

Like Rich said, I got the idea from him and I think it's a very useful tool. I pan the original left of center and me hard right. That seems to work for me to clearly hear who's doing what (or what terrible things I'm doing to John G's music).
