Ok, here's the effort: soundcloud.com/wannalearnguitar/bycu-12-minor-bluesQuite pleased with it considering that's only a few nights of effort - hey, I was writing and recording "Texas Hope" this week too I can't help but feel that the BYCU backing track for this one ends a tad early (I'm convinced my timing is right). Comments and feedback always welcome. Oh, this one I used my Boss Super OverDrive SD-1 to boost the clean signal a bit for the sustained bends.

wannaplay,
Love your tone, and those bends are just cryin' for sure. Yeah it did seem like your guitar and the backing track were a little out of synch at the end. I need to try to listen to this again sometime when my house is a little quieter. Right now, my wife is running this new irobot vacuum she just got ...

WPB, that was outstanding, lovely bends!!! I'm quite jealous!! Nice guitar tone, just a little less drive than I did for my version, so I think yours sounded that bit clearer if that makes sense. I would say that the backing track finishes a litle short so you can add your own tag ending to the tune .

I can't help but feel that the BYCU backing track for this one ends a tad early (I'm convinced my timing is right). Nice job on that, WPB. The bends are sounding good. Then again I'm probably not the guy to ask about bends. Your tone is good and I think your timing is good. You also put some feeling into this. The backing track definitely ends too early. John even mentioned this in a post a few months ago. I think "More Minor Blues" also has a similar problem. Apparently, these backing tracks were recorded long after the original studies were recorded. I guess they didn't think of BT at the time the book was written, and for whatever reason couldn't isolate the rhythm track from the originals. Maybe they didn't have access to the original master tracks.

That sounds really nice WPB. Bends aren't quite perfect, but they're about ten times better than mine were on that song You've got a nice feel and flow going there. Good job!

Very nice, wannaplay,
You rushed just a tad in places, but mostly you were on and had the feel. Towards the end there was a bit more rushing, especially at the beginning of a phrase or lick. I know how it is: you've done a few takes, maybe, and this one is going pretty well and you're getting to the end, hoping that you don't hit a huge clunker, and have to do it all over again. That's when you have to relax even more and worry about mistakes even less. Good job. Try it with a cleaner tone. That might smooth things out a bit.

Am blown away that you took the time to listen and comment! And glad you enjoyed it Also - it's like you were in the room based upon your comments - you're spot on in every way! It had been a few takes, it was going well and I was worried about hitting a clunker. I'm also sure my lack of experience impacted my timing.
