#8 from BRYCU sounds good. Your timing is spot on. Now, I have good news and bad news. First the bad news - I'm afraid you are going to have to play "Getting Funky" again or we will hound you forever and follow you to the ends of the earth. The good news is that you got all the notes down with pretty good timing, but, IMHO, you should come back to it in a few weeks. If I were you I'd move on to "Lazy Day" and even "9th Chord" and let "Funky" rest and settle in to your subconscious mind. If you spend too much time on a particular study it just becomes stale, and it's probably counter-productive to keep struggling with it. Come back to it in a month and you'll be able to approach it with a fresh perspective.

Joachim,
The rhythm lesson sounds great! Nice tone, nice timing - just well done all around. Now "Getting Funky" is not a "mess" by any means, but is not quite as nicely done. I think Phil's advice is good - move on, keep this one on the back burner. I'm a believer that at some point you reach a point of diminishing returns to keep playing the same thing - that is, your skills improve more from picking up something new to play than they will improve from continued work on the same piece...
You're making good progress - remember each of these BYCU pieces "ups the ante" so to speak from the previous ones, but this results in pushing your skills ahead. I like that you're doing BRYCU at the same time - I personally thought that the rhythm lessons really helped me to "feel" the chord progressions. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for listening and for the constructive feedback, Phil and Bruce,
I will definitely move on and revisit "Getting Funky" later; I am sick of playing it and for the last couple of weeks or longer it hasn't improved. I probably should have moved on earlier - lesson learned!

I thought you did a nice job on Getting Funky Joachim - if you're to the point where you've practiced it for a couple of weeks and it isn't getting better, it's time to just move on and let your technique continue to improve by learning other new songs. Ninth Chord Rhythm sounded really nice, good timing and it fit right into the song nicely.

I thought getting funky was pretty good in general. However the rhythm lesson was excellent the lessons from that book I hear the more I want to jump in and order it up. Keep up the work, for the first time in weeks I am too tired to even play scales, although I some this morning before work. Hmm guess I don't have to feel so guilty.

Joachim, I appear to be a little late to the party with this post but I will add you are developing into one hell of a rhythm player which is so very important to the sound and feel of the blues, lead guitar ain't nothing without a good solid groove to play over . You are doing good work man.

Nice. A little fast for you right now. Better to take the slow version and get all the bends down and in tune. You have a good handle on it, though.
