Does anybody know where you can get the mp3 files and/or CD for the BYCU and more BYCU books? I broke one and lost the other one, I saw that they have the backing tracks on the website but I need the original CD's, thanks!

Welcome to the forum, tabeck5!
I'm not aware of any way to just buy the CD's. You could try to PM John Ganapes through the forum messaging.
Good luck,
Bruce

Tabeck5,
I was born at night, but it wasn't LAST night. The book and CD package are available at Amazon for $16.48. Buy it again, but this time copy the audio to your computer in case you 'break' the CD again.
Go play someplace else. You're in the wrong playground.
Phil

That is a bit rude, I'll post a picture of the broken CD. I emailed Mr. Ganapes but have yet to receive a response and I am looking for the MP3 files, I would even be willing to buy them but cannot find copies anywhere for sale without purchasing the entire book again.

Maybe a little harsh, but in today's environment pirating runs amuck, I believe his only concern is that your aren't trying to get pirated copies.

Sorry to hear about your CDs. One of the CDs in the BYCU family of lesson books I own has started to stop/skip/repeat in different portions of the disc. I've wondered if I'll need to buy a new book. It probably would not be a bad idea for me to buy a new book. It seems I'm pretty hard on the books and they look pretty ratty by the time I get to the end!

Tbones right, copyright is a pretty touchy subject, even the backing up of copy righted material is debatable, as a consumer I feel it should be authorized as an artist protection is a necessity. Anyway, this has brought out an interesting need in the community. I converted my disk using iTunes which supposedly maintains any protection, but I use an ipad when I practice. Anyway will be interesting to see what pans out.

Wow, maybe I'm just naive. I figured the CD's or mp3's without the book would be fairly worthless, so he must have the books...
Oh, and Tbone - nice Homer, man!

Tabeck5, In almost 20 years of participating in web forums and mailing lists (you younger guys probably never heard of those) I've never been abrasive to anybody ever. So now the 1st time I get aggressive I end up shoving my foot in my mouth. I was 100% sure you were scamming us. Normally I just ignore such things. Now I'm no saint, but I felt that someone looking for pirated material on the very website of the owner of the material was a bit too much. Especially, since the material is so reasonably priced for what you get. It appears that you were being honest with us and I was wrong. Please accept my humble apologies. If you had been around here awhile and asked the same question it would have been different. Dropping in out of the blue and asking about this stuff just seemed suspicious to me. Again, I apologize for being so abrasive and for accusing you of something you didn't do. So, let's bury the hatchet and move on to better, more interesting subjects. Phil BTW: Welcome to the forum.

Phil, no worries at all, I appreciate protecting the work of and supporting musicians, I have gone through many other books/dvd's in the past and the BYCU for whatever reason clicked with my learning style. So after moving I was a bit peeved to find I had broken my BYCU and lost the BYCU cd. Fortunately I still have the Jazzin the Blues and Rhythm and Blues you can lose but I wanted to finish working through these books first. I emailed Mr. Ganapes and have yet to hear anything back, it seems they should offer these MP3s for sale online, until then I will have to keep searching on youtube.
