Managed to get another of Dave Rubin's 12-Bar Blues Solos done and recorded along with a custom drum track and rhythm part.
I've made huge progress with another of Griff Hamlin's "Blues Gig In A Box" tracks - just working on getting a couple of runs up to tempo. They're 6-tuplets at 90bpm. Although they use hammer-ons and pull-offs, they're still taxing on me. The main rhythm and 90% of the solo is down. It'll be a fun one to have recorded, for sure!
That said, this week we have a few things going on in the home which means my playing will be very limited so I expect no recording this week and not much practise (other than the 6-tuplets when I can).

I'm working on getting the guitar parts for "Going to California" recorded. Hopefully have that finished by today...okay tomorrow Been working on the mandolin part a bit, that's coming along okay. Needs a lot more practice to get from "being able to play it" to "that sounds like music." John Paul Jones is a really good mandolin player, and he's very expressive in the way he does his slides etc. It's not really "fast" but being on a tiny little fretboard with double strings, it's still quite challenging. Not to mention that the mandolin is so light, when you do a slide you tend to take the whole instrument with you lol.
