Hey all, It's been a manic 8 months and a lot has happened... basically, we had the opportunity to make modifications to our home, which we undertook. Added to this was the opportunity for me to build a log cabin (from a flat pack kit) at the bottom of the garden which is now my office and recording studio. I have network and power and a nice desk Not-to-mention, all my amps are available at short distance/notice and I can crank up some volume without disturbing family members or neighbours Recently, I bought my first all valve amp head (5watts) - a Bugera T5. Plugged into my VOX 12" speaker cab it sounds awesome! It's nice to see the valves glowing inside it, but I can really hear the difference valves make. Every little touch comes through whereas solid-state seems to loose this IMHO. Finding it *so* easy to get some blues tones with it - and it takes pedals beautifully, so been throwing my BOSS BD2 at it. Added to that, I've setup a mic and initial recording went brilliantly. Looking to add a second to get a good blend. I'm currently using a TASCAM TM80 Condenser Microphone, but hope to add a Stagg SDM70 (cheaper SM57 type) to see if I can get full blend range using 2 mic recording I intend to get back into recording *very* soon - and this time, the wooden planks behind me will be real Here's what the Amp Head looks like - get one if you can, well worth it for a full Class-A style amp

Oh man, a log cabin - that would be my dream! I'd love to have a place deep in the woods where I could go outside and hear nothing but the birds chirping and the wind rustling through the trees. Add some solar panels, a big propane tank and a little hobby farm and nobody would ever hear from me again lol I hear you about the microphones; I just started working on "Going to California" by Led Zeppelin, which has two acoustic guitars playing the same thing throughout the whole song. Once I learn it, I'd like to mic one guitar with the SM57 and the other with a pair of Rode M5 small diaphragm condenser mic's. I think that should (maybe) make a nice mix. Well good to hear you love your new amp, and looking forward to hearing some of your guitar playing once again!

Hey WPB I always dreamed of a log cabin on the Hiwassee for fishing lol
I have looked into those Bugera amps a couple of times, but I cant use my amps I got. I just got date for next show 23 March. We are doing Cocain, Call Me the Breeze, Midnight Hour, What do I have to Do, and a Blues Beetles song. I want to add a slow blues to make it six but one of the other guitarist always complains about time to learn. Frankly at this stage really just working out a solo to play only thing you need to learn
Good hearing from you!
I try to check more often but for some reason i get page error, then next try itworks.
