Got back from visiting my brother in Denver, and all the pain I was having in my wrist seems resolved. Have been back to playing guitar, and back to Guitar Aerobics (though now I'm off synch as to days of the week, which really aggravates my anal-retentiveness! LOL). Have NOT been out swinging any golf clubs, either. Supposed to be sunny and back up in the low 60's the next few days here, so I'll probably be compelled to at least go to a local park and do some chipping, or maybe even visit the driving range... Still feeling pretty rusty guitar-wise, but I probably just need to decide on something and try to actually record something at some point.

I'm gonna sound like a broken record, but I'm still working on the same things I was working on the last 3 updates. Yesterday I got sidetracked by another shiny object. I was looking thru my (vast) collection of Truefire courses and selected one by Jazz guitarist Sean McGowan. In it he has a fingerstyle Blues study called "Simple Blues". Well, his idea of simple clashes with what I consider simple. This is one of the most challenging things I've attempted in a long long time. I'm now on a quest to learn to play this study no matter what. So I now have 4 things I'm working on. I'm going to try and not start anything else until I get these 4 tunes up to speed and recorded.
Let's see if I can stick to this plan. I wouldn't bet any money on it.

More theatre rehearsals for me this week - Monday and Thursday, plus practice in-between if needed. If I have any free time - I'm trying to get BYCU - Getting Funky done (REDUX) done

So it's Sunday and I'm here! This past week I got down a rabbit hole of "playing for fun", figuring during the window where what I'm playing actually sounds pleasing to me, might as well exploit it. The fun thing is that while I'm enjoying myself I often give myself a more thorough workout than I do plowing through exercises and trying to perfect a narrow sample of material. So not much diligence as a student but I don't care. So I didn't complete what I wanted to regarding my holiday recording, but again, I don't care. This week will be full of Holiday distractions but maybe I'll manage to make myself fire up the DAW and advance that. As I mentioned what I'm working on is both short and stripped down compared to some of my past efforts, so finishing it on time will be easy, although it might not meet the bar of being worth sharing. Still haven't completely discarded the idea of a second, more ambitious project. I'll probably need to make a call on that by the end of this coming week. Bottom line: I'm sidetracked and out of sync with my plan, so don't feel bad Bruce and Phil.

I had kind of a busy week but managed to get in some decent practice sessions Friday and Saturday. The intro part to "Promises in the Dark" is done, so now I can concentrate on the rhythm parts and the solo. The rhythm guitars just need a lot of repetitions to get the timing tightened up. The solo is still giving me problems with that damned fast lick; pretty much every tab and lesson on YouTube has it performed completely differently from every other lol. Oh well, I'll try to come up with something that is hopefully not too cringe-inducing.
Griff usually does some Christmas piece for the all-access-pass in December, so maybe I'll work on that - assuming it's a song I like.
