Gents, looks like everyone slept in today.
Not a ton new to report here. Still working a little each day, trying to gradually extend the time. Still flirting on the edge of soreness after about an hour so doing far less than I would like. Starting to review some of my lesson stuff from last spring and starting to think about a 2022 Holiday season recording project. Not positive I want to bother this year.

I had a pretty good week, despite distractions. I'm pretty sure the solos for "MR. Crowley" won't be up to full tempo by the end of the month - there's some really fast licks in there and though I'm making progress, it's slow. I decided I wasn't playing some parts of the first solo correctly so I re-learned them from a different tab; maybe once I get those new parts thoroughly memorized I'll get my speed back up, but right now I'm back to 50% tempo. The keyboard part is coming along well, I figured out how to split the left and right halves of the keyboard in Reaper, so I can have a synth sound for the left hand and a church organ sound for the right hand, as it is on the album. I bought the "Journey Greatest Hits" songbook for keyboard so maybe I'll get started on that at some point in the future. I'm also undecided if I'll do a Christmas song this year...I'd like to do "Lay it Down" by Ratt and "Faithfully" by Journey (which is probably WAY beyond my keyboard skills). But who knows maybe I'll get in the mood.

Still trying to shake off rust and looking for direction here. Missed yesterday due to "busy with other crap" (is that a decent excuse?). At least picked up the guitar every other day this week, but certainly not putting in any decent amount of time. My frustrating amotivational state still continues, at least to some degree...

Bruce, the only advice I can offer is to pick out a lifetime favorite song - the sort of thing that made you want to play guitar in the first place - and work on that.
