I gota little more practice than usual last week. Working on the licks, and getting back to some of the studies in John's book. I hope I can keep it up over the coming weeks...

I picked up the guitar every day this week. But on one of the days I was just relocating it to where it would get a little less dust from the painters. Still 6/7 ain't bad. Still just a few minutes per sit down. Working BLYCU 52 and 53 mostly as strength training which is sorely needed because I'm trying to smooth out some hand position issues which changes how I do things fingerwise which in turn changes up which of and how those little muscles get employed.
Work wraps up next week and I'm doing a lot of packing. Today I have to tackle all my "auxiliary music stuff". Instrument cables, patch cables, old pedals, different sorts of audio cables, headphones, stands, etc. Ironically, half of it I just unpacked yesterday after sitting a good number of years in boxes since I cleared way for new carpet. I suspect a fair amount will hit the discard pile. The "If it spent 5 years in an unopened box, you'll probably never need it, and should get rid of it" rule applies.

I had an okay week of practice, maybe a little more than an hour a day. I started working on Zeppelin's "Ramble On" - Stranglehold just wasn't doing it for me; instead of feeling enthused and eager to practice it, I was bored and frustrated. Hopefully I'll get back to it at some point in the future. Ramble On seems to be getting me more motivated, there's the acoustic part at the beginning (man is that some fast strumming ), and then the pre-chorus and chorus parts, along with some lead guitar and a rockin' electric guitar part. And a really cool bass line. Lots of stuff to keep me occupied lol.

Do any of you watch this guy on YouTube? I really enjoy it - I certainly won't attempt any of the repairs he does, but I think it adds to your knowledge base to know how things work.
