Finally got this one done. The arpeggios were a pain to work through, but glad to say I pulled it off.
I used two different channels on the Amp for this piece and switched between them "live" while recording - check my left leg at 0:57 for an example.
Overall I'm pleased with this - I think changing channels live made me more aprehensive and I'm slightly ahead of the beat at points as a result - but good practice for playing live and changing settings/sound.
The ending is a bit long - but I went with the backing track from the YouTuber. I think the mix is pretty good on this one too.
Enjoy!

Very cool, WPB! Does sound like he extended the ending on that backing track - you could probably edit it down in your DAW if you were moved to do so. I think Stetina must have double tracked the distortion part on his recording of this - it sounds absolutely massive and I remember never being very happy with my distortion sound when I played around with this one. I also didn't actually have a distortion pedal - just used computer modeling, but didn't have a means to turn it on and off "live" like you're doing. Turning a pedal on and off while playing is a basic rock and roll thing, but it just doesn't really come up in blues or jazz! Loved your production, and looking forward to hearing more of these!

Nice one WPB, those arps are a real pain to keep clean and in time. Well played.
I've dug out a couple of Stetina books this week also in an attempt to get my guitar motivation going again, looking at "Strummer" from Total Rock and chapter "To The Stage" from the lead guitar book. Picking up from where I hit the wall a few years ago...

Excellent playing, wannaplayblues! I always liked this track, has a great eerie sound to it and the arpeggiation is challenging but also has a great kind of melancholy contrast before it hits big with the distorted chorus line. I look forward to hearing your rendition of Atlantis, good luck with it blackcountrymick it’s awesome you’re digging back in to Troy’s methods, such great resources. I also wish you luck as you jump back in the saddle, I hope you push past your previous plateaus and see some great progress dude
