Well its been kind of slow around here this week so thought I would post my first shot at Blue Sixths for commenting on, its pretty rough in a couple of spots mostly the runs are feeling kinda forced, and timing floating a tad. Anyway here it is for you listening interest as it may not be a pleasure this time. soundcloud.com/alabama-blues/blue-sixths-v1-1Rich

Thanks for sharing, Rich - it has indeed been quiet this week! You got the main flow and tune down pretty well, but given how good your latest recordings were, you can probably straighen out the timing if you work on this lesson a bit longer.

I agree Joachim, I have had a cold this week and hadn't practiced as much as I normally do.

Thanks for posting, Rich. It has been quiet on the board. It's definitely coming along nicely. You've got a good tone for that one. Get the timing ironed out a little bit better and you'll be in business.

Thanks Bruce, I am not completely happy with the tone though I think I need to clean it up just a little more.

Coming along well Rich, sounds cleanly played and I like your guitar tone a lot. As far as the timing, it's one of those "one-and-a-two-and-a-three-and-a-four-and-a" songs. Sounds like you're doing well on the licks that start on the main beats, just need to work on the one's that start on the "and" and "a" subdivisions. The hi hat is tapping out those counts and the rhythm guitar is playing the "one...a-two...a-three...a-four" beats, so maybe focusing on those would help. It's a whole lot easier to hear if you slow it down to maybe two-thirds tempo just to get the feel for it.
Anyhow, nicely played and sounding good!

Coming along nicely. I think the faster run towards the end of the recording seems off to my ear, like the final note is early and you're holding it a bit long before the chord catches up at about the 1:23 mark. Other than that I thought it was great!

That wasn't too bad at all, Rich. You'll have this one down in no time. The run in measure 7 is a bit tricky. I also think your tone is great.

Rich, that's definitely quite a difficult study but you are well on the way to cracking it. The sliding 6ths are a staple of blues technique, get those right and the melody will sound just like its being sung. Good work man!!

Thanks Mick, I am having more trouble cleaning up those runs, I think than the slides.
