I've finally finished this study. This was harder than the first of course but I also learned a lot more about chords and variations. I used a backing track from guitar pro and put in my own rhythm and solo guitars. Again these are always works in progress and I'm still working on getting the bends to the right pitch. Thanks for the comments on my renditions folks. Blues Rock Tune.mp3 (879.99 KB)

That sounded great, F1. I like the way you are taking these basic studies and adding some complexity to them. The early studies in BYCU have enough space to allow something like this, and you've done it really well on both studies. I've often thought about going back to some of my favorite studies and trying something like this. About a month ago I did something similar with "Jumpin' Blues" from More BYCU where I extended it from 2 choruses to 5. I repeated 1 chorus twice and added in 2 choruses of my own. That was a terrific learning experience and I need to do more of it. Keep posting your recordings. It's always good to hear what other people are doing and we need more people doing this. Phil

I agree with phil, nice take on a basic study made me fell like I was back in the 60's, I really liked the whole vibe. I wish I could that creative.

Formula,
Nice spin on that study. Looking forward to hearing you get more into BYCU. You'll get plenty of opportunity to work on bends! Keep 'em coming.

nice work! My only suggestion would be to vary the sounds of the guitar to get more distinction between what each is doing. For me, I like my rhythm work to be on a clean setting with lead work done on a dirty channel. You really hear the difference then. Alternatively - play with the tone controls on your guitar/amp to get different sounds!

I liked that Formula One, nice call and response thing you've got going on there with the original lick from the song and your own stuff. Looking forward to hearing more of your creations in the future
