That was great, Jack! Very funky - great bassline, did you come up with that yourself?

That sounds really cool, Jack. I just love those full band videos that you and Mick do. Kind of makes my simple split screen videos look mundane. Nice sharp playing, good tones, nice mix. Nothing to complain about in that one.

Thanks so much guys! Glad you liked it! Joachim, I just figured out the bass line from the CD. He throws in a couple of quick triplets too, but he only does it twice so I left that out. That was a hard bass line to learn as it's got that staccato thing in the one part and it's just extremely rhythmic. Bruce, your videos are never mundane LOL Glad you liked the guitar sounds, I recorded that dry and then added Pod Farm afterwards. Spent a lot of time trying to get everything tight with the drums too; it's not quite as good as I would have liked but it's about the best I can do right now. Tony, love that you can dance to it

Another outstanding job Jack, I especially liked your bass tone you got there, it really suited the piece I thought. ....Guitars are good as well of course .

Thanks guys! Mick, yeah I love that Fender Rumble bass amp I got. Now I'm kind of gassing for a regular P bass too lol. Right after the acoustic guitar and the semi-hollow body and the tube amp and the drum software

Jack, following your example a while ago I got me a bass guitar as well... it's a Fender Modern Player Jazz Bass, and I hope I can do it justice soon... you really became good with this thing, you know that? Greetings, t. Wow, thanks Tony! Guess I've been playing bass for about 8 months now, not practicing it as much as guitar of course but making sure to get in a few hours every week. I really love playing bass, you can just settle back on concentrate solely on getting in the groove (not that I ever actually achieve that lol) and not worry about all that fancy geetar stuff. That Modern Player Jazz looks like an awesome instrument, should be really versatile with both the P bass pickup in the front position and Jazz pickup in the bridge. Did you get the candy apple red one?

Jack, is your bass a fender blacktop P bass by any chance? Think I may be getting Fender bass GAS

Great playing on all 3 parts, Jack. I'm especially impressed with the bass. That looked pretty difficult to pull off smoothly, which you did perfectly.
After you record something you can always think of things you could have done to make it better. We're never satisfied with our own playing.

Thanks Phil, yeah that bass part took a lot of practice; it's playing its own part and not going along with the rhythm guitar like usual, so it's much more noticeable and makes the timing all the more important. I think the lead and rhythm could be a little tighter, but timing and "getting in the groove" is something I'll have plenty of opportunity to work on with every upcoming song.
