I watched your Preaching Gospel Blues and all I can say is oh gawd...another gorgeous Stratocaster Ah yes , that is a 2009 USA deluxe HSS, I changed the pickguard to black because I didn't really like the brown tortoiseshell that was on it originally. That's now my No 2 for playability since I got my new HSH which is so sweet!!!!! I do have a third strat (SSS) in sonic blue, but it just feels that little bit "stiffer" than my 2 Americans.

Nice job, Mick. This is a tough one because of the speed. Your bends sound good and the timing is spot on. Too bad about that final run. I keep playing the turnaround here instead of the final run down to the A7#9. There's nothing more frustrating than getting a good, mistake-free recording and then messing up at the very end. Clean that up and you'll have it down perfectly. I'm working on the final 3 studies and am putting the finishing touches on "R n R". I'm still having some problems in places playing cleanly at this speed. You just motivated me to get moving and get this study under my fingers with no mistakes. How are you coming on the last 2 studies? Phil

That was excellent, had that old school rock sound. I really like the looks of that guitar also.

If that doesn't get your dog movin', nothing will! Yeah, not perfect, but pretty darned good (I've played around some with this one recently, so can appreciate it). Now play "All Forms Blues", dammit! Bruce

Nice job Mick, that song's a tough one I think it's the type of thing we should come back to a year from now and see if we can finally play it perfectly lol.

Hey, thanks guys, as you can tell this was a progress rather than a performance video, there was more than few flubbs in there but tbone got me to put my cards on the table. The real good thing for me is that I could nowhere near play this tune when I ran out of steam (and ability) the first time around so there is definitely some sort of progress there. I've not yet attempted to learn the last 2 songs but with my motivation now at an all time high graduation is on the horizon .

Wow, Mick, that was impressive. I'd like to make a longer comment, but I have to get back to practicing "DC". I thought I'd record it today, but it's still not ready for Prime Time.

Hey guys, thanks for the very kind comments, and thanks to John for a deceptively difficult lesson, it wasn't easy for me to get that slightly behind the beat feel, in fact no doubt John would tell me I was actually pushing the beat at times . Well I intend to start on AFB tonight and hopefully in the next few weeks join the BYCU graduation club along with Phil and Bruce. (and tbone and jack but you already got yours .

Simple Seventh Chord Rhythm - Lesson 6 - Blues Rhythms You Can Use
I've had a night off from "All Forms" so I thought I would tick another rhythm lesson off. I was certainly out of practice playing barre chords when I first started this lesson, my left hand was hurting after only 10 minutes of playing!!!

That was a nice recording - and a great tune! My left hand also hurt a lot playing this, and I was wondering if I played the barre chords in a weird way, so I am glad to hear other experienced the same...
