Great sound and playing, Jack. Are you playing rhythm and lead over just drums? Got a question for you. Did you find "All Forms Blues" to be difficult. I took a dry run through it yesterday and it seems much more difficult than I thought it would be. It has more bends than the Ohio River. Phil

Nice job with those two, Jack. Your playing sounds good, on both lead and rhythm. With the lack of production I am having, you're going to finish this book before I ever get another video done! Phil, he's playing both the lead and rhythm over his drum machine track. All the lessons in Jazzin' include both lead and rhythm parts.

Thanks guys! Phil, yeah I'm playing both the rhythm and lead as Bruce said. As far as All Forms Blues, I didn't find it too hard except for the bends. Even if I got them to the right pitch (which is pretty questionable) they still sounded bad because I wasn't bending them up at the right speed, ending them at the right time and in the right way, wasn't holding them at the proper pitch once I'd bent up, etc. Then those reverse bends - I'd play along with the CD and thought I was doing them exactly the way John was, but when he played them it sounded great and when I played they sounded bad LOL. I think I learned a ton about bending from that one. I was never able to get that fast ascending lick at the end to sound smooth like John does it either. When he plays it it sounds very legato, when I play it, it doesn't. That really takes some subtle control of how hard you're picking the notes...or something. Bruce, get that video camera out! LOL. Tbone - my bedroom is slightly neater than that guy's

Jack,
Getting out the video camera (which is actually my iPhone) is not the problem - the problem is getting enough practice in to actually play something decently...

Hey! wow - somewhere along the line I've become a "Senior Member". I think that's a consolation prize for spending too much time on this forum and not enough time playing my guitar...

@ Phil: Okay, this is embarrassing, but I take back what I said about playing "All Forms Blues" and claim the opposite... I took a serious dry run through it a minute ago and it seems much more difficult than both of us thought it would be. Dang, I thought I'd be able to throw a party this weekend. Well, there's football then... Man, T-Bone, you really had me impressed when you said it was easy. Now, I find out that you're just a mere mortal. I haven't seriously got into "All Forms" yet. I'm still polishing up "Rockin' and Rollin'" and "Delta Child." But, I'll start on it this weekend. Phil

Now, I find out that you're just a mere mortal. BTW, how do you like my new avatar? I'm still not sure whether I should this one or if I prefer the picture above (the on w/ Jack on it)... T-Bone, You misspelled "constantly" but other than that I like the avatar. Especially, the audience of 4 part. However, you might want to count again - I think it's up to 6 now, but who's counting? In my case it's called "All Thumbs Blues". Good luck.
