I had an okay week, just practicing "Unchained." Got the rhythm part going fairly well - still needs lots more polishing though. I memorized the main solo and I think I'm only at two-thirds tempo on that. Then there's a whole bunch of lead stuff over the end of the song which I'm just getting started on. I downloaded some impulse responses from a place called York Audio; $15 for like 150 IR's of the Van Halen 5150 amp, which I use with the Helix. Different mic's, different positions, tons of different sounds etc. So I've been having some fun with those. Knowing me I'll have to get the IR's for the Fender Twin, Bassman and the Ampeg bass amp as well Hope you're all doing well!

Think I played at least a little every day this week. Keep thinking I'll try to do a "work in progress" video, but still haven't tried setting up my lights and camera... Oh, well. Hope everyone had a productive week.

I am also getting more regular practice right now. Working on some things, easy Jazz standards. The other day I was killing time with Youtube on my tablet, and I ended up on "Sound Guitar Lessons with Jared": www.youtube.com/@soundguitarI otherwise don't follow YT lessons much, but Jared's teaching style and way of structuring moderately short lessons really hit a nerve with me. I mainly looked at the separate lessons for "Chord Tone Soloing" for Autumn Leaves and All of Me. Also some great intro lessons on walking bass and chord melodies.

Still working on improv using arpeggios, scales and chromatics. I still can't improvise at all. However, I am able to slowly compose solos that don't sound too bad using some formulaic techniques from Jazz pianist, Shan Verma (Jazzskills on YT).
Joachim: That looks like a good channel. Thanks for the link.
