One of my New Year's resolutions is to listen to more 'new' music. New meaning new to me, not necessarily the world. I'm pretty new to the world of Jazz and really cannot comment on this. So, please help me pick some jazz to listen too.
What would be your 5 Desert island Jazz albums or collections?

I don't have many Jazz albums but these are 5 that I listen to the most. Midnight Blue (Kenny Burrell) Smokin' at the Half Note (Wes Montgomery) We'll Be Together Again (Joe Pass & J.J. Johnson) Guitar and trombone Transmission Hour Live (Duke Robillard Trio) This is actually a YT video but I ripped it to mp3 and listen regularly.
Kind of Blue (Miles Davis) The only one I listen to regularly that doesn't have a guitar.

I'd probably have to include:
Kind of Blue - Miles Davis
Virtuoso - Joe Pass
Midnight Blue - Kenny Burrell
A Love Supreme - John Coltrane (or My Favorite Things ?)
Heavy Weather - Weather Report
Hate to leave out Wes Montgomery. I could also listen to Ella Fitzgerald sing just about anything ("Best of the Songbooks" is an awesome collection). Glad to see Tbone include Sonny Rollins and Charles Mingus and Brubeck. Return to Forever? "Well there's Basie, Miller, Satchmo, and the king of all, Sir Duke" - LOTS of good jazz out there.

Bruce, I also love the Virtuoso album, and I also like the compilation "The Jazz Collection" by Wes Montgomery.

Thanks guys,
Most of my Jazz listening comes from a local radio station in in San Antonio.
A few things I've discovered recently was "Real Book Jazz Guitar Easy Lessons" by Federico Labbieto
Johnny Smith Moonlight in Vermont
