Yeah, made made a video just to placate Phil...
This is "Hard Rocker" from Total Rock Guitar. The admonition in the book is "Notice the prominent finger vibrato, oblique bends, and major 6th dyad licks. And make Angus proud!"

That was cool, Bruce! Fantastic with a new video from you, and it sounds like a fun tune to learn! It looked like you had a trouble remembering one or two parts of lead, so you came in a little late there, but I really liked it.
Already looking forward to your next video!

Bruce, that's really neat, that riff sounds like Tony Iommi sitting in with AC/DC! Not familiar at all with Troy Stetina's stuff, but maybe I should check some out. My inner blues man seems content on skulking inside and never coming out.

That was a "cue it up and play", single take on both parts recording. Yeah, Joachim, I definitely muffed several notes on the lead part. I didn't cue it up enough in advance, and I barely got hold of the guitar before the solo started, so the first part of that (which has some bends and pre-bend releases) did not come off well at all. I also don't think I was ready to go at the start of the rhythm part, either, and started off pretty badly ahead of the beat... At least I didn't have too bad of a "guitar scowl" on my face!
I thought the rhythm guitar tone came out too "bass heavy", or maybe I just had the bass up too high in the mix. The drums and bass on that were midi, the drums done using the drummer plug in Logic Pro, and the bass part programmed in Guitar Pro, then exported to Logic. I could probably make a "better video" (record multiple takes and pick out the best, re-mix the whole recording, change or adjust the amp sims, etc.) but that's not really the purpose here. Anyway, I'll try to remember to cue up a few measures in advance in the future, or at least to turn on the count-in feature. Like just playing the guitar isn't difficult enough, you've also got to have some skills with recording, DAW functions, mixing, mastering - oh, and then there's videography and video editing, too...

Haha Bruce you hit it right on, playing and mixing is tough. I agree bass a bit heavy but gave it a evil tone! I might have to dust off my copy if that book! Phil get busy, the crowd is waiting! Great go Bruce

Bruce, yeah I always record many, many takes and choose the best one lol I figure I'm just sittin' there practicing it over and over, might as well leave the record button on the whole time.
