What a great course! I have learned so much! Before that I had played for a little less than two years. But it was the first time I practiced with a metronome or a backing track. I have now practiced continuously with the BYCU book since November 2012. But Phueh! The excercises have been really challenging for me. I am now almost finished with chapter 14. Chapter 11-14 were quite easy actually since the rythm there was quite slow. But now I see that the excercise in chapter 15 is really fast! It seems like there are three remaining excercises that have a really fast rythm. I think I need to take a break from the book and improve my skills before I continue. Anyone else following this course now? Anyone else struggeling? But my goal is to finish BYCU, More BYCU and B Licks YCU....(have allready bought the books. ) However, it will probably take a couple of years. :-D I am 39 years old now....and I am going to be a killer (home) blues guitarist before 45!

Thanks for your reply!
BYCU will definitely be my main source in the years to come. I think these courses are hard to beat.
I was planning to have a break with a Graded Rock songs play along by Hal Leonard, just to get some variation. I think it's only healthy. But then I got tempted into starting on chapter 15. So I think I will try to continue until I finished the BYCU book. Maybe I will not complete them in full speed before I move on. Let them mature a bit and then go back and try to nail them in full speed. I use my IPhone with an app for slowing down the tracks.
I also have the backing tracks additional CD. That is more difficult than playing along with the lead guitar. But I am too inpatient to learn all of them so well that I can play them with the backing tracks only. But that is definitely a goal in the future.
