blackcountrymick that was TOTALLY WICKED!!!!! I sure hope to play like that when I get to that piece. The tone was beautiful! No wonder your dog is so chilled out - it's listening to some awesome blues.

I wonder if these forums support some form of custom images by poster's photos (on the left side where we have our "posts: xxx" and "Member is Online") - if it did, people who complete (and post) the last track of each BYCU book could get a medal or something. Be a nice record of their achievement. More medals means more books completed.
Heck, I'd happily design the medal images too if it was a possibility.
Thoughts?

That was just great, Mick! I've mentioned it before it before - you make it look so easy on your vidoes... You're setting the bar awfully high on this forum

Very nice. Watch that you don't rush the phrases (entrances). The final G9 chord has a C (4th string, 10th fret) instead of the B (9th fret). Your 3rd finger fretted it - you want the 1st finger to sound the string at the 9th fret. Very common error. Keep up the good work.

JG Hi John, thanks very much for for your valuable feedback, its great to have "The Master" pop by and keep us motivated . BTW John, there must be an error in the tab in my edition of the book because the last G9 chord does show the B on the D string and the top 3 strings fretted at 10.

Ok. I didn't make myself clear. What I meant to say is that you PLAYED a C (10th fret, 4th string) where you should have played the B (9th fret). I see this a lot, where a student accidentally and unknowingly frets the 4th string with their 3rd finger, while also correctly fretting the same string at the 9th fret with their 1st finger. Naturally, the B won't sound because the string is stopped a fret up on C. Just watch your 3rd finger and make sure it's only on the top 3 strings, and not fretting or touching the 4th.
I hope that's clear. Sorry about any confusion I caused.

I will have plenty of opportunity to practice that 9th chord shape in my next lesson - Ninth Chord Rhythm in A, hopefully I will be fretting it correctly by the end of the lesson. Thanks

Mick I have two questions for you.
1. In Minor Triad Blues on the 5th and 6th measure are you playing the ghost cord/notes? I cant tell from the video.
2. Your acoustic appears to be an Epiphone what model is it? I am in the market for an acoustic myself.

Ghost notes? do you mean the little slide ins or the tied chords. If you mean the slide ins some maybe a little too quick that maybe they don't register.

Nice playing, Jack. You really look relaxed when you play. I'm always so tense when I record that I feel like I'm tied in a knot.

I mean the Gm in parenthesis in those two measures I understand those to be ghost notes/cords

Mick I mean the Gm in parenthesis in those two measures I understand those to be ghost notes/cords You do not play the chords in the parenthesis they are tied to the previous measure and their timing overlaps the bar. In effect you add the timing of the first tied chord to the second so you don't actually strike the second chord. Hope this helps
