A good week except for Monday. Getting BYCU - Hard Edge Blues down, it's got some fast runs in it that I'm trying to smooth out. I finally completed and recorded Solo Blues Guitar - Solo 2. This coming week I'm hoping to complete either Hard Edge Blues or an AM piece I'm working on that's nearly smooth enough for a recording. I also intent to start on Solo Blues Guitar - Solo 3 and am contemplating doing it finger style as it seems to lend itself well to this and will give me some more finger-picking practice  What I have noticed recently is how much I'm looking forward to playing each day... I'm currently thoroughly enjoying the process of learning to play the guitar. My recent "perfect" combination of guitar and amp may be helping here  |

I had a decent week, working on "What You Give." Got everything up to the second chorus recorded (well almost everything), but of course I'll probably have to re-do some of it before I'm happy lol. My camera or maybe the camera software is giving me problems, it will miss a few frames of video and I get a sort of flash across the screen. Grrr  I've been spending some time working on the lead parts, and still need to get the solo and outro choruses done - which also have lots of lead parts in the background. The next fixits session isn't until the 30th so hopefully I'll have plenty of time. Hope everybody had a good week - Phil hope your finger is feeling better! I was taking a heavy box out of the back seat of the car and managed to smash my left hand between the box and car door. The area around my thumb and index finger is all bruised but oddly enough it doesn't effect my playing. Though any mistakes I make will be blamed on that |

Had a decent week here as well. I've stuck with Guitar Aerobics every day (usually takes 15-20 minutes), then have picked up one of the several guitar books I've got lying around. This week, those books have been mostly Blues Rhythms YCU, Jazzin' the Blues, and Fast Forward Lead Guitar Solos. I haven't recorded anything, though I know good and well how easy it is to convince yourself that you are playing something well if you don't actually record it (when in fact, you can't play it worth a damn). I'll be off to Mexico for a short beach vacation for my anniversary this week, so I'll miss most of this week. Anyway, hope I get right back on the bandwagon when I get back, and that this doesn't turn into several more months off!

A slow couple of weeks for me, but at least I am still practicing. I will have another lesson tomorrow, which should give me something to work on.
I learned a really cool small Joe Pass chord melody last time.

I made it this week guys!!! So after a brief layoff I was back with guitar-in-hand some number of days straight. Nothing hurts so alls good. Haven't really decided what I want to start off the year with yet. In the meantime there are a million small things I can work on to improve. The last few days its been bending (again--I'll be working on them the rest of my life and still not be happy).
