Well, I've had a good week of guitar practice! 6 days of practice at 1:30-2hrs at a time. Managed to record an AM piece and "BYCU Major Blues", both of which have their own threads. This week it's more rhythm and lead improv work as well as a new AM piece and "BYCU Hard Edge Blues". I'm close to finalising "Solo Blues Guitar - Solo 2" and hope to perhaps record that this week, if my nerves hold out and I can cope with recording without a backing track

I did practice some every day this past week. Still following Guitar Aerobics, still haven't recorded anything. I'm thinking I just need to pick a book and start making some recordings, see where it goes.

I had a fair to middlin' week of practice, got in 1 1/2 hours for a few days but then of course got busy and it was down to 1/2 hour for the last few days. Pretty much got the acoustic part for "What You Give" memorized and I've just been playing through it a lot, working on the timing. Practiced the lead guitar parts a bit too. There's some other accompaniment in the background as well that I haven't started working on, and some distorted electric guitar too. The lead parts are very blues-based, even got some sliding sixths in one part lol.
Hopefully I'll get a bit more free time this week and be able to really work on it.

I'm still having a slight problem with the sharp pain in my ring finger. But it's getting better.
I'm working on developing a lighter touch. Here's a good way to work on that. I got this from Jazz guitar teacher Rich Severson who has severe rheumatoid arthritis. Plug in and turn your amp up louder than you want. Now control the volume buy playing softer. When you pick softer you will most likely also fret the strings with less pressure.

Hey guys, I'm still alive, just starting off the new year with a little more procrastination than normal. Tuesday was the first time I picked up a guitar in 2023 to the best of my recollection. Seems I recall most new years I put together a fairly detailed outline of music/guitar goals for the year. Didn't do that this year, might get around to it later.
