Well, I've added another book to my practice routine - but this time to push myself in feeling comfortable when my playing is more exposed Basically, it's a book of Solo Blues Guitar - just me, the guitar and the amp (and some reverb). The pieces don't look difficult, but they really expose your problems, so here's to being good at the simpler stuff... I will say this - *every* time I hit the record button I panicked and had issues - took *AGES* to get this one down - I think it's due to simply not having any other sound covering my mistakes. I mess up, and you know about it... Enjoy - and have a very Merry Christmas from me, Ruby and the Catalyst!!!

Very cool, WPB! I read some reviews of the book on Amazon, it sounds kind of intriguing. I'll be interested to hear your recordings of more of these. Yeah, nothing to hide behind playing solo style like this! I understand all the pieces in the book are just a single chorus of 12-bar blues like this, but I'm sure if you grow more comfortable playing this style, you can alter them and extend them to make them more of "performance pieces".

Yeah, I'm hoping they'll give me little ideas of what I can play and where in a 12 Bar Blues, hopefully it'll migrate to when I play with others... if I ever pluck up the courage to do a jam night!

My teacher keeps telling me to find someone to play with, but I just don't have the time or energy for it. He is constantly reminding me it's the only way to make real progress, though.

Very cool, difficult to keep in time when playing by yourself, well done Yep - but home recording allows for lots of "helps" - on this one, I used a click track in the recording software to keep me on-time
