I think I missed only one day this week, but at least I seem to be slowly getting back into playing more regularly. I accumulated quite a bit of rust during my hiatus, but I feel confident I can shake it off if I'll get back to some consistency and slowly build up my playing time. I don't know why I go through these phases where I just seem to loose interest in picking up the guitar - I think it often corresponds with summertime, when there just seems to be so much more daylight hours, which translates into more outdoor activities, and more time at the lake.

I'm still here. I think I missed posting for a week or 2. Been working on chord melodies for "Georgia" and "Misty" which are much more difficult for me than simply learning the chords, melody and a solo separately. I don't know why I continue to try and play stuff that I find so difficult. If I ever get these to where I can play them smoothly I'll make a video.
Bruce, just keep picking up that guitar whenever you feel the urge.

Phil glad to see you're still alive I didn't get a whole lot of practice in last week, as I was busy with the audio and video production on "Goodbye to Romance." Now I got started on "Mr. Crowley," yet another Ozzy / Randy Rhoads song. It's got a keyboard intro which I think may be easy enough for me to play - it's one chord per bar and all but one of them are major triads, so it's just every-other white key, and the left hand plays a one-note-at-a-time bass line. So anyhow I ordered a 61 key M-Audio MIDI controller keyboard which should be here tomorrow. It's also got two guitar solos and I think I might be able to play them too...I enjoy being a dreamer Ah well, take care guys and hope you find some time to make some music.

Hey guys, sorry I'm late again. Headed back to the real world this coming Sunday, so I'll probably be late next week too, but back to normal after that until next June. Hard to believe 4 months has gone by. Hard to believe I can get away with hanging out in the Northwoods and doing what I please for that long and not get into some sort of trouble.
Still playing daily and continue keeping it relatively short in time and narrow in scope. Even with severely curbed effort, feel like I've made a noticeable improvement in that narrow domain. If Jack wasn't setting the bar so darn high I'd consider doing a one-guitar take of Limelight, having found a decent (almost) guitar-less version of the song out there on the webs. Means I'd have to tackle the solo, which isn't super difficult outside requiring some deft tremelo arm use--I've spent my life avoiding whammy bars.
Jack, I'll have to wait until I get back to check out your last few Ozzy vids, don't have enough bandwidth out here.

Grampa, I seem to remember your last recording sounding 100% professional - you have no problem with any bars lol

Hello gentlemen! I managed to play everyday. I am currently learning how to read music as well (a long term dream of mine) so I am dividing my practice time in reading practice and The Blues You Can Use. I finally managed to crack all Double Stop Stomp parts separately and I am working on playing the full song with a backing track! So far I think this is the most challenging but yet rewarding study.

Salvatierra, good to hear from you again, and good to hear that Double Stop Stomp is coming along! Playing some every day is a great way to make progress, as is playing with a backing track! Keep up the good work! If you are so moved, feel free to share recordings or videos. Don't be intimidated by Jack's productions - most of us are nowhere near that level. I'll try to post some blues playing sometime once I get my fingers back under me, but everyone has to promise not to be too critical - after all I'm just a humble hobbyist...

Grampa, I seem to remember your last recording sounding 100% professional - you have no problem with any bars lol That's the fun part about composing--no matter what note I hit, I can claim it is right. Approaching something like limelight, I wouldn't worry too much about replicating the record, But I'd want something reasonably true to the original, if that makes sense. Just need to do a whammy 101 crash course when I get home and maybe I can get a decent facsimile of it.
