Looks like I get to kick it off this week. Unfortunately, nothing new to report. Still working BLYCU lick 63, Rock Me Baby, and the same usual suspects. No recordings produced, have laid off the past 3 days due to a sore finger. I will be leaving on vacation Tuesday, so will be out of hand for a while. Hope everyone is doing well!

I had a crappy week - busy with all sorts of stuff, and I re-downloaded and re-installed all my programs...it was as aggravating as ever I did get a fair bit of work done on "Over the Hills" though, everything up to and including the solo* is kind of sort of "done," and I've put together the video for most of it. I've got a ton of audio production left to do, and I still need to do the last verse as well as the outro - I haven't worked on the outro in quite a while, so that will be starting from scratch. That "other guy" is having one of his "fixit" things on Tuesday so I'll try at least to get the last verse finished up, along with the video, and present what I've got as a rough draft. So, onwards and upwards Hope you guys all had a good week. Edit: yeah I just re-did the solo

Sketchy week for me. Can't seem to get rid of the last 10% of the symptoms in my fretting hand. Unfortunately I'm limiting myself to an hour or less daily. I'm starting to consider taking a couple weeks off completely.
Aside from my warmups and stretches, all I'm doing is practicing hitting root tones on chord changes. The vehicle is 12-bar blues so every day I pick a different BLYCU backing track and fumble through it. That gets me into a handful of different keys with some different feels.

Hi all, hope you are all doing well. Bruce, have a great vacation! Your guitar will be waiting when you return Jack, keep working hard on it. I'm looking forward to seeing the "final" product of Over the Hills. Grampa, sorry to hear your hand is still giving you some grief, hopefully it heals up more properly soon dude! My guitar week has been semi productive... the issue is that since I discovered that TrueFire website I have been addicted to it... hahaha.. I have a free trial for 6 more days and I keep checking out different programs... I've mostly been keeping an eye in the areas of Hard Rock, Blues Rock and Fingerstyle guitar playing... It's a lot of fun to browse the programs and see what I like... the only thing is... I've now bought 7 different courses >.< Someone please stop me! Haha, atleast they have all been on sale and most of the courses are courses I genuinely wanted (2 blues style one and 1 blues slide guitar one by Andy Aledort and 2 hard rock for rhythm and lead playing by Angus Clark). I also found an intro to home recording one that was completely free... I don't know why it was free (marked down from 29.99) but hey, I'll take it. Anyways, I have a lot to keep me busy now... as if I didn't already. I'll try to stay productive, I hope you guys do too!

I have 4 BYCU books. 1st two have CD’s. 2nd 2 have access to tracks online. How does one get online access to BYCU books purchased before online access? I had one book/CD from Hal Leonard that I had lost the CD to, so I ended up buying the book again as a Kindle e-book, which gave me on-line access to the Hal Leonard audio (I still had the printed book, had just lost the included CD). I got the Kindle book for much less than it would have cost to buy the printed book again (about half the price). So buying the e-book MAY be an option for some Hal Leonard books (I would advise to check this out thoroughly before making such a purchase, as I've read some reviews for books where people state some particular e-book did NOT include any audio access). The sad ending of my story was that after several years, I actually found the lost CD in the bottom of one of my drawers... I'm pretty sure Hal Leonard's stated policy on this is that your initial purchase included EITHER the CD OR the on-line audio (but not both), and that you are stuck with whichever you bought.
