Hello everyone, greetings from Germany. I am new here in the forum. This is my first post. I play guitar for about two years and now I bought "Blues you can use" to learn blues.
I really like the backing tracks that come with the book. Unfortunately those are only full play alongs. Now I searched the forum and found a hint that one can buy the backing tracks (without the guitar) in the store. I tried that, but it seems that the webshop is closed since 2020. Does anyone know another website where I can buy the backing tracks?
Thanks a lot, Andreas

Welcome, Andreas. Yeah, it looks like the CDBaby site where those used to sell is dead. The backing tracks he sold were NOT the exact ones used on the CD with the book. There are some BYCU backing tracks posted on Youtube here: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnPmRgX5cErR-7egKP15DCRKSN1uTwNRcI can't speak as to the quality of these, as I have never used them. You can download the audio from these, but I don't really know how to do it. There is also what looks like an excellent set of BYCU video lessons (as well as backing tracks) posted on Youtube here: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCXjquP1TIcXOfVLVNAqbQ-WkAJFwTJNPIf you scroll down to the bottom of this video lesson list, he also has backing tracks posted. I don't know if anyone here on the forum has ever compiled a set of BYCU backing tracks. I know that some for More Blues You Can Use were compiled by two of our forum members, and I have compiled some for Rhythm and Blues You Can Use. Hopefully one of these two Youtube sources will work for you. Good luck! Playing and recording these lessons with a backing track is excellent practice.

To download stuff from YouTube you can type "youtube to MP3" into Google - you kind of have to watch out though as some of those sites seem to want to download malware and that sort of thing.

Thank you Bruce and Jack. I had already found the backing tracks on Youtube, but was not overly enthusiastic. The original tracks are much better. I have a looper (Digitech Trio +), which also offers me a bass line and drums. That is then also enough.
By the way, there are under "Quarantine Survival Pack" a few backing tracks to the book to download.

If it is any consolation, the backing tracks that John Ganapes sold WERE NOT the original tracks from the CD with the book, and at least in my opinion, did not sound as good as those tracks.

Does anyone have the Blues Licks You Can Use backing tracks/example tracks? I bought the book from a thrift store but there is no CD. I’m happy to PayPal John $10 for the audio since I didn’t buy the book new.
I also got Blues Chords You Can Use, there are no example tracks for this book, correct?

I think the Blues Licks You Can Use book has only on-line audio through Hal Leonard. There are a few of us in this forum trying to work our way through this book, and you can certainly hear some of our attempts at these licks in those threads. Yes, Blues Chords You Can Use has no accompanying audio.

It has the “CD Included” logo on the cover and the flap in the back cover to hold a disc. I’m still working through the original book, so I’ll find my way to it eventually. If anyone has the files to share through Dropbox Let me know.
