Hi everyone. Glad to see the site up and running. I've been waiting since I bought BYCU a couple of months ago. I'm a novice with the Guitar never having played any musical instrument until about 3 years ago when I had one for my 65th birthday so I could play with a friend. I've really enjoyed playing mostly pop and rock and roll as long as the chords were easy, but now I want to get into the Blues and John's book seems a good place to start. I've completed the first four lessons though I'm not quite up to tbones standard, so I'm going to rest here for a while and consolidate.
My question is, in lesson four, Swinging The Blues, would you advise maintaining the one finger one fret principle while playing the Double Stops in the 10th measure (as I believe tbone plays it) or should I use just my index finger and slide it up the neck and back.

Hi Jimh,
Use one finger per fret. So from the first note of the bar, it would be: 3 - 1 - 3 - 4 -3 -1. In the next measure use fingers: 3-3-2-2-3-3-4-4(shift up one fret in next bar) 4. The F7 chord should be fingered, from the bottom (lowest) note up: 2/1/3 and hold the same shape with the same fingers and shift down to the E7 chord.
I hope that helps.

Thanks John. I'll give it a try tonight.
