Kind of a bad week for me, busy with too much other stuff to get much guitar playing done. The house is three-quarters painted now at least I did get a portion of the classical guitar part for "The Unforgiven" recorded and I think I'm satisfied with it. The other parts are nearly identical so, who knows, maybe get that done this week. Then, as I said last week, only the solo, heavy rhythm part, and various other bits to do. I've been having problems with my Focusrite - actually I'm not 100% sure it's the Focusrite, but I've had the sample rate and buffer size in the ASIO settings change all by themselves, and now I've got sort of a static sound coming through with my microphones plugged in (for the classical guitar). Anyhow, sent for one of these: It's got 4 inputs for microphones on the back, two guitar inputs on the front, and the controls are on the top which makes more sense for me, because with it sitting on the desk I don't need everything jammed onto the front edge of it like with the Focusrite. So we'll see how that works, supposed to be here Friday. This week I hope to get some more classical guitar parts recorded, and maybe the pre-solo solo for "The Unforgiven."

Once again I've gone back to the basics. I hate doing exercises, but I need to do at least a little and haven't done any in months - maybe a couple of years. So, I started doing some arpeggio patterns from the Mickey Baker book and dusted off a Truefire course called "Inversion Excursion" by Frank Vignola. I also do several minutes of walking bass patterns with chord stabs for Blues and figured out a pattern for "Rhythm Changes" based on a recent Rick Beato video. I definitely need to get off my ass and do a short video demonstrating some of this stuff I keep talking about. Marc's video yesterday where he talks a little and then plays inspired me to get moving. I'll just have to make sure the video has an audio track.

That looks nice, Jack!
I keep struggling to find enough practice time, and now my son is starting to catch up at an alarming rate. He pushed me to dust off an old Jimi Hendrix Hal & Leonard play-along book to start learning "Red House". If nothing else, I've given him a good taste in music....

I've barely picked up the guitar this week. Been cramming for a test, which I've postponed until next week. So likely more of the same. I'm looking at maybe getting a tube amp. I guess the new guitar did not satisfy my G.A.S.
jack1982 That interface looks awesome. I'd be interested in how large it is. I struggle from a desktop real estate problem right now.

Sore fingers today so I guess that's a good sign I put in some time. Too bad it's not reflected in my playing.
