Kind of a crummy week for practice, I probably got 30-60 minutes in on about 5 days, just working on Christmas stuff on classical. Didn't make any progress of course lol. Better get my butt in gear, it's December! I guess I'm like Rich - no guitar stuff this Christmas, but I ordered a pair of Klipsch R-28F tower speakers. Been a long time since I've had a really good pair of speakers, so that will be a treat (when they get here Friday)

Decent week for me practice-wise, still doing MBYCU and different Fleetwood Mac songs. My new Marshall Origin 20H is just great, so that gave me a lot of motivation to play. On my other amps, the bottom strings have always sounded muffled and rattled, but on this amp with a separate 12" speaker the bottom strings are very articulate and usable. And the amp has a power-switch between 1, 3 and 20Watts, so it's great for home use also, and quite affordable actually...

Not much to report this week. I did manage to ignore every single Black Friday ad and not buy anything. I was supposed to get started on Christmas songs but never got around to it. Next year I'll start in July. Joachim, seems you solved your problem by getting a different amp. I had a problem with an over bearing, booming bass. I read an article on adjusting pickup height and pole pieces on a humbucker pick ups. Just by lowering the whole pickup under the bass strings I got rid of the boominess. The volume of each string can be adjusted by raising or lowering the individual pole pieces. Not many people realize how much pick up adjustments can affect tone. It's worth trying before running out an buying new pick ups.

I had another week of bumbling along same as most of the prior weeks, just that as Thursday and Friday rolled around I had to adjust to increased difficulty reaching the guitar. Amazing how just a few slices of pumpkin pie can shorten a guy's arms!

I read the article and I agree with you. I especially believe in the accountability thing she talked about. That's why a teacher or playing with someone else on a regular basis is important. Speaking of exercise - I haven't done any regular exercise in over 6 years. I had intended to start again last May. The article inspired me to get started ASAP. Let's hope I have more success with that than making videos.

During the last 3-4 months, I've been so busy that I might have put guitar-playing on hold if it weren't for the lessons. John was very understanding and we just changed my routine to take limited practice time into account, so I managed to keep playing a little regularly and enjoying it.
