Just to start some conversation...I think I set a personal record for practice time in a week this past 7 days, a little over 16 hours. My goal is to maintain an average of at least 4/wk (I've read in several places that it takes at least 30 min/day to maintain some degree of progress). I guess I just got overly enthusiastic, my other choice is to do taxes. I'm practicing scales "for real" for the first time ever, just the first pentatonic pattern from BYCU Lesson 2. More challenging than I expected. I've had to put my left pinky though a boot camp of sorts. It's doing better but still the Gomer Pyle of the squad. I've worked up the BYCU study 2 (Blues Rock Tune I guess it's called) to about half speed. That one's causing me some trouble. It will be tough to get it up to full tempo by the end of the month.

I've always struggled with lesson 2. I've been on lesson 6 i think for the past week but part of my warm up is going though all the previous lessons. That chord change from the E7 to D7 is a bit tricky for me. mostly because they are 2 different chord shapes but it's a solid exercise.

Just getting to the E7 is vexing to me--having those single notes that leave the 1st finger down on the 5th fret then having to jump up and form the bar on the 7th in the space of an eighth note is a bit too athletic for me once the tempo gets to 70 or higher. I don't have too much trouble getting the A7 so long as I land on the E7 cleanly until the tempo gets higher. It will be a fun challenge to see if I can get those two things smoothed out (along with a half dozen other little foibles).

My goal is 14 hours (2 hours of practice per day.) Lately, with fighting a blizzard and being sick last week, I haven't hit any where near that. My promise to myself is to never let one day go by without at least 1 hour of practice. Yup. That E7 is killing me. going from the single note to forming the chord is going to be a long time coming. I will be on Lesson 2 for quite a while.
