So is his playing. It's hard to believe he only started playing something like 15 months ago. Actually i thought that's what i said Well, it proves that you can reach your goal in a relatively short time if you start on the right path right from the start instead wandering around on a wrong path forever... did you ever think about how much personal lessons with a teacher like john would fasten your progress? I hear that. When I first started I just learned some songs from tab but mostly noodled around unaccompanied all the time. I guess it built some finger dexterity but that's about it. And there was no gradual increase in difficulty like in John's books either, I jumped right in with expert level songs - had more ambition than brains lol. Sometime in the future, since it's not too practical to make the 2 1/2 hour drive to Minneapolis to take lessons from John on a regular basis, I was thinking of giving this a try: artistworks.com/guitar-lessons-keith-wyatt Maybe we could talk John into doing a program like that

Tony, I had a brief encounter with a teacher, but it wasn't a success. And with the usual obligations of a family-man, it was also becoming difficult to fit in a lesson at a specific time every week, and to be well-prepared as well. If I had started playing earlier, I'd love to take lesson, though, but right now my only option is too take out the guitar when the kids are asleep... We are lucky John made those great books to lay out the road for us!
