Smooth jazz bassist, Mitchell Coleman Jr., is taking funk/fusion by storm with his new debut album “Soul Searching.” I recently found his music while I was looking for something to listen to on iTunes. I found his single “Flow” and instantly become a fan. I started to look more into him and found out the he was #1 on the Wave in Cleveland. I don’t know how I didn’t find him sooner! This is his first solo album and he has teamed up with the best including veteran Motown producer Michael B. Sutton. The album plays for almost an hour. I wish it went on forever. The songs are full of passion that comes straight from his heart. I would have to say that my favorite song is “Flow” because it was the track that made me fall in love with his music. If you want to take a listen then check out his iTunes here: bit.ly/iTunes-Flow-MCJ. To get more info on him check his Facebook at: bit.ly/MitchellColemanJr, Twitter at: twitter.com/MitchOnTheBass and website www.MitchellColemanJr.com.

This guy is a very good bass player, and I wish him the best of luck, but I just can't get into this genre called "smooth Jazz." To be honest I'm not even sure what smooth Jazz is, but I think it's the kind of stuff that Kenny G. plays. That's just my opinion. I'm not looking for any flame wars. Everybody is entitled to listen to and enjoy whatever music they want to.

Everybody is entitled to listen to and enjoy whatever music they want to. True, but IMHO anybody is entitled to spam forums like ours with PR stuff of random musicians as purpledarts does. Just sayin'... Wait a minute, T-Bone, this guy just happened to run across this while surfing iTunes. Every post by this guy has been a promo for somebody. Most of it has been pretty good stuff, but I don't care for the subterfuge.
